YJM100 Verdict...

I really think that this might be the perfect amp for me, I just wish I could get a chance to play one first. I wonder if gc or samash in my area will ever get one on the floor to try? I will either end up with the yjm or the new cameron jose.

Anyone compared the YJM100 to the AFD100?

I heard them side by side at NAMM. Not very similar really.

so this thing has built in attenuation/power scaling..kind of like the marshall slash head?

That's great but can it do a Cannibal Corpse tone?

does it get the Bonamassa Marshall sound, or gain levels?

Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to trying this head out.

They are similar in that I am GASing for both amps. :D

Can you desribe the sonic differences in more detail and which one you preferred?

I doubt it. It's a man's amp. You either know how to play it, or go back to cascating preamp, "look at how cool my open E chord sounds" "Mesa in Marshall headshell" amps

Hi Carl.

Just saying, I have a Friedman Custom EVH amp and an AFD100, and they are different flavors of great. Of course, it is also el34 vs 6550 and sound like it. Would love to try the YJM. I bet it and the Friedman would be more similar than the AFD100.

As much as I like the new Splawn amps I have tried, I think this new Marshall is one of the sweetest tones I have heard in years. It takes pedals well, which is great since my band plays some heavier tunes by Metallica, Tool and Alice in Chains.
Wish it had a clean channel though. :(

I just answered your PM!

The YJM gets really clean when you dis-engage the boost. If you want a prestine clean then Id add an Effect unit that can do the 4 cable method like the DIgitech GSP101 and program in a clean sound there!

All the best
