LMAO!!

The perfect setup.. A blindfold test in 94'.. Let's, let the perfectionist be himself..

I agree with some of his brutal honesty, even tough he has the charm of a jackass! That's Yngwie being Yngwie. He's the master of his own domain in the neo-classical shred most thought to pursue in the 80's. I did so myself. But it wasn't all I listened to. Yngwie is very melodic and does have feel. Does he have the feel Gary Moore had?..not in my persective. Is Yngwie willing to let down his perfection enough to understand Jeff Becks dynamic's? I don't think so.. Where would Metallica be today, if Yngwie was their lead guitarist? .. I think we all can answer that! Lars could be replaced easier then Kirk Hammet. I think I bought every album on the Shrapnal label Mike Varney put out after Steeler up into the 90's. Alot of great players were inspired by Yngwie. Alot became better rounded musicians then Yngwie, and some were even faster. Yngwie set the bar for them to pursue. Is Yngwie as perfect as he thinks he is...no. I've seen Yngwie many times over the years. It was always a joy when he had to many Heinkens's and played out of time. He has no accountability on himself, his ego doesn't allow that I think. He stopped the show in Cincinnati once..pointed fingers at the drummer..drummer said something he didn't like.. Yngwie took of his strat and threw it at the drummer! Lucky for the drummer, the cymbal stands broke the impact. Then there was the 10 minutes of comedy that followed. A drunk Yngwie chasing a sober drummer behind his amps, back stage, accross the stage etc. I wish Youtube was around then..lol. Yngwie is one of my favorite guitar players of all time. Yngwie has his bread and butter. Yngwie was inspired by Hendrix..he doesn't have his control or dynamics. He has his own. If I was a producer, I would pick Michael Landau to cover a Hendrix song in the studio over Yngwie. I would pick Chris Impellitari, George Bellas, or Joe Stump to cover a Yngwie song, if Yngwie wasn't available. But Chris is a cool guy.. I would have to weigh that..lol. I find inspiration in most music.. I'm sure there will be 6, 7, 8, and very soon 9 string players in the future that will inspire me. Whether it's EVH, Rhoads, Yngwie, Gary Moore, Alex Skolnick, Guthrie Govan, John Sykes, Django Reinhardt, Jimmy Page, Brent Mason, Richie Kotzen, Audley Freed, Paul Gilbert, Danny Gatton, Hendrix, Nuno, Neal Schon, Andy Wood, Steve Morse, Richie Blackmore, Steve Howe, John Norum, George Lynch, Joe Bonamassa, SRV, Steve Vai, Warren Haynes, Stanley Jordan, Carlos Montoya, Pete Thorn, and even the video's you guys put out there on Youtube and here on Rig-talk. It's all music. I appreciate it for what it is.. Randy Rhoads gave lessons before Ozzy and took lessons while on the road with Ozzy. I think he got it. Ego aside, everyone is a student with something to learn... Even the perfectionist Yngwie.
