I must say that Ibanez new RGD series fits me like a glove! Not baritone but still longer scale.

The term Drop Top comes from taking the main body and "dropping" a maple top on top. The maple top adds some brightness and snap to the body wood. My combination happens to be a mahogany body with quilted maple top. Sounds, looks and plays amazingly!
To be more specific, Tom refers to a Drop Top as having a maple top that is "dropped" or swooped over the top to create a comfortable forarm contour. He goes on to say that with the introduction of the Drop Top in 1990, an "S" instrument could now have it's full contours. http://www.andersonguitars.com/product_ ... p_over.cfm
BTW,.....AWESOME TAG! Looks amazing!![]()

Thanks for the explanation guys !
Just to be sure: imagine a LP with a maple top with the bottom left corner of the top (guitar standing) lowered (don't know the right word for it, sorry) for more comfort for your right forearm would also be a "droptop" ?

Yes, although Tom uses it to refer to his construction method which is dropping a contoured top over the body.
His lp style guitars have more of the traditional symmetrical book matching, although an lp with contours would be great. Gibson made a guitar like this for a little bit, the DC Studio

Tom's Pro Ams have the flat slab top.

lol excuse to post pictures. Drop Top is more or less Anderson's name for a maple capped S or T style guitar. They can be had with or without contours.
The fully contoured T...greatest idea ever. Makes Telecasters look like a slab of wood.

i don't think i've ever in hindsight, regreted selling a guitar as much as i do my black 98.. i don't think i've come across anything that had that sound. it just inspired me to play, felt right. and of all the whims and current favourites, i think i'm always, in my head, comparing them to this guitar. My all time favourite.. the peavey wolfgang

I had a black '98 as well. Placed it on the baggage conveyor at Toronto Pearson Airport and it was never seen again.
Within a year, a theft ring amongst the airport workers was discovered in the baggage department and a whole bunch of employees were fired.
Some baggage handler is fondling my guitar right now.![]()
