Depends.... Any one of my LPC's, the '57 Black Beauty for darker, heavier, drop-d style tunes; the '68 Firemist for more sparkle and jangle; the '57 GTDB for almost everything. The '57 GTDB kick such amazing ass with my 20thA XTC, it's almost hard to try and combo up a different guitar and amp. Every time I play that goldtop with my XTC, it's bliss.

So ya, LPC's all the way

I've always wondered: what makes it a "droptop" ?

Giga

The term Drop Top comes from taking the main body and "dropping" a maple top on top. The maple top adds some brightness and snap to the body wood. My combination happens to be a mahogany body with quilted maple top. Sounds, looks and plays amazingly!

To be more specific, Tom refers to a Drop Top as having a maple top that is "dropped" or swooped over the top to create a comfortable forarm contour. He goes on to say that with the introduction of the Drop Top in 1990, an "S" instrument could now have it's full contours. http://www.andersonguitars.com/product_ ... p_over.cfm

BTW,.....AWESOME TAG! Looks amazing! :2thumbsup:

I knew the Hamer would make an appearance.

LP. But my Tyler UW is a close 2nd. Really depends on the tune.

Love these, haven't been able to find one I want to drop the coin on again. But I had one and loved it, never should have sold it.

My Les Paul and my RG. To be honest, my Artcore is really comfortable too.

Fender Strat

I am surprised how many people said Les Pauls. Being a long time strat guy, it has taken me some time to bond with playing a Les Paul. I bonded with the sound of a LP quickly. I now am comfortable on a LP, but still more comfortable on a strat. The neck joint on a LP to me is still gets in the way at times. I would like to try one of those access LP's where its contoured away a bit.
