So I had a Mark III and C+ a while back. At the time, I thought they sounded very similar with the III a bit more aggressive.
So now I'm trying to make an Axe FX III sound like a Mark III. It has a model of the C+ and of the IV. The C+ sounds much closer to the III, to the point to where in the abstract the sound is seemingly equivalent.
Here's the thing: the III had a much stiffer, more immediate feel and "pop" than what I can get out of the Fractal C+. But I don't know that it's an inherent shortcoming of the Fractal. I don't particularly notice the same thing comparing the Fractal Brit 800 sim to my real Marshall 2204.
So the question: is the C+ just a bit smoother and more relaxed than the III? That might explain why I just can't figure out how to get that extra bit of immediacy from the Fractal sim. Or maybe the sim just not quite there.
