I buy stuff from all over the world so just to give asian manufacturing a fair shake here's the facts:

1. There are some brilliant asian factories around, right at the cutting edge of R&D and manufacturing and often using European or US machinery, but there are plenty of rubbish ones too.

2. The work ethic and engineering prowess is often quite amazing, they can take any product from concept to sample to full production in a couple of weeks not months/years.

3. Everything is manufactured to order and most products have to be signed off by the customer prior to manufacture inc all specs/materials, so if a product has cheap parts in it means the customer told the manufacturer to use them so the blame lies right there.

It's all about the company you buy from not the country.
