What is your go to pick when buying new ones and what to you like about em...... discuss.

Red Dunlop JazzIIIs. They're small and I can pick faster with them, and also I like that they're pointy so I can get a better attack on the string

Tortex Pitch Black Jazz III's. Love the Jazz III's for their size and shape, but I could never get along with the material.

These tortex versions put me at home

Heavy Cool picks  Thicker picks, and doesn't slip out of my fingers, best I have tried so far.

dunlop .88's for 9's, dunlop 1.14's for 10's - i carve the tips of them myself.

they are both light picks which help with attack and feel, are not heavy to hold, and they are nylon - so they do not shred pick dust all over your guitar/last a really really long time.

POD

Black Jazz II mostly, but at home I use either Red Jazz II's or III's. They show up better on my dark carpet when I drop one.

Tortex sharps, the thickest ones. Like the sharp point for the precision aspect, but they still are a decent sized pick to hold onto. I used to use jazz IIIs (regular and XL) and the regular dunlop 2.0s (yngwie) but I think the sharps have a stronger more percussive attack and don't let you get away with slop and bad pick angles. I sat down for a few days awhile ago and really listened to a bunch of different picks instead of just going for what was easiest to play. The sharps were harder to play at first but after I heard and felt the difference I forced myself to use em.

Use to use these, but switched to the blue Dunlop 1.0mm Tortex picks. I like the bigger sound of them compared to the Jazz III's, not to mention squeals are louder and the pick attack when hitting a lead is reduced. I also like the sound of them when I'm really digging in compared to other picks.

Dunlop Tortex .88mm green picks
I can't seem to stop using them and have been using them for 14 years or so..

I like that they are hard enough to hit the strings aggressively and if I am warmed up and my hands are warm
The pick will slightly conform to my fingers or maybe I just have a death grip on picks...
They only last me about an Hour of steady playing because I like fresh picks...

black Jazz IIIs, after using them for a while, any regular sized pick seems cumbersome.

I just recently experimented with smaller, pointer Pickboy Edge picks and They just aren't my thing. I've been using standard sized picks for years, and they give a much bigger and bolder sound with every picked note, plus they allow for a more percussive attack without beating my index finger to death. I have, however, found a happy medium with picks that are larger than the Jazz picks, but still shaped like them. The pickboy Carbon Nylon 1.00mm picks with the pot leaf on them are excellent. I'm also gonna be trying out the Pickboy meta carbonate picks as well as the Dunlop Ultex 1mm.

My main pick for a couple of years now until this point has been Everly Star picks 1mm's.

Dunlop Tortex 88mm The green ones. Used the jazz series for a long time the red and black ones but they would start slipping out of my fingers during gigs. Can't have that so I went back to the trusty big thick picks. Problem solved. They don't seem to wear out on me to fast even if I do a bunch of crazy pick scrapes or something.

Jazz III here.

Used to use the purple stubbies, but all I can find now are the large ones.
