I ran 1.0mm for years until I started to have hand issues. Two surgeries later, I stated using .88mm. My hands don't hurt anymore.

So you sharpen a pointed pick to a point? might as well switch to the Tortex Sharps.

They aren't sharp until I sharpen them.

The Tortex Sharps are only available in the regular size picks. I need the big triangle picks. The small ones are too hard to hold onto.

Jimmy Paige Herco flex .75, George Lynch Dunlop ultex .73, Warren DeMartini and Dave Mustaine Dunlop tortex .73, etc.
Michael Schenker used 0.60 Dunlop Nylons and Herco 75's back in the day.

That's what I use too.

I use 0.03mm steel picks that I glue coins to so I can hold them ...

In terms of the OP thickness makes zero difference to pinch harmonics to me.. it's all technique

It's not the pick, it's the technique. You can pinch harmonic using a banjo thumb pick and your index finger with a light touch. No specific pick is better than another if you have the technique down pat.

Overall I go with the cf jazz3 max-grip. For leads especially I prefer it's tip and bevel over the sharper-pointed tips like my other favorite JP Trinity.

If you like the flow tip then give the JP Trinity a try. It's the best for tight clear technical alt-picking and there are literally three identical tips on each pick.

For pinch harmonics, you want a lot of control over exactly what your right hand does to the strings.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be thick but it does need to be rigid (that’s what she said, heyooo).

I use .6 and .73

When I have to dig in, I choke up on it.

Same here. It's more the execution than the pick imo.

Technique for sure. My old guitar tech finds the coolest shit. These are run of the mill chinese picks. Ive been using this one for 2 months.
Love it. Comes in a 5 pak. Hard to find i wanna buy in bulk but i can't find these exact one's but found some similar.

2.3 mm kinda of a fluke size but fuggin perfect for me. Hard to find this size.

I see I'm in good company. 🤘
I'm mostly using Ultex Sharp .73 (and 0.90 when the balance is more on the heavy riffing than lead playing side...plenty rigid), Jazz III XL .73, regular Tortex .73 or .88.
And those Dava control picks I also like.

Dunlop Jazz III Primetones for me. The idea of a $4 pick seems sort of stupid, but they work better than anything else for me so I suck it up and pay.

I cant really say on this topic of thin or thick picks because I use a Dime, but I can say there is zero flexion lol.
