+1000 i hate that gay biker look.hes always been a drunk ,i hung out with him about 15 years ago.he did a guitar seminar at Zapfs Music,he was fucked up, after that we went to a strip club,he got more drunk, and then after that we went back to my girlfriends apt. cause he wanted to play Nintendo with a friend of his ,i think his name was JD .by the time he left he was so fucked up he was knocking all kinds of shit over. i used to love his playing ,but i think he sucks now and BLS blows .

Yay! I can play better than Zakk now...

I thought he was quite amazing early on, but it has been an incredible downhill ride until this crap... excessive alcohol consumption on a daily basis for many years sure takes its toll...

Steve

I think he was a bit drunk in the video. ;)

Hey, I'm drunk when I play too... whaddaya tryin' ta say?

Wow. I couldn't make it 30 seconds.

You gotta at least watch until the "end of story....period". That comment pretty much seals the deal on Zakk's career.

what i dont get is the stiff right hand/ forearm. he didn`t play like that 15 years ago.

He's starting to remind me of one of the Dethklok guys. Specifically Pickles.

I guess if you dont like RR's tone then that is how you hear it and it's the truth for you. I think the chorus made it sound a little bad but overall somehow it complemented Ozzy's voice and the music turned out really cool in the end. Would it have been better if Randy had "better" tone. Like , if Randy had Lynch's amp from Under Lock and Key, would that have made Speak of the Devil sound better for Ozzy's music?

Um, Speak of the Devil is Brad Gillis, not Randy Rhoads......

woops, I meant Blizzard of Ozz, But I still maintain my point that Randy's tone was not that bad just had some annoying chorus especially on Diary of a Madman, I have both Blizzard and Diary and I think his tone is better on Blizzard of Ozz.

i used to like zakk but he's a bit boring now. i gots no problem wit the tone but there's a shitload of guitarists i dig that have horrible tone. randy rhoads being one of them. i guess i really don't give a fuk about someone else's tone...to me, content matters most. that's why the nod goes to randy and zakk's just lame now. i don't think it's the alcohol either...i think the dude needs to take a 2-3 year break from it all and come up wit sumthin' "new"...of course, he'll continue to whore himself out and run himself into the ground cuz "it's all about the benjamins" these days...fukn sellout fuk.

Hahahaha that's hilarious! I'm waiting for season 2 to come out on DVD still, best show ever made IMHO...all of the clips posted on this thread are hilarious, Zakk or otherwise,

You could probably tell from my name that I'm actually a big Zakk fan, but lately he has been really disappointing! It does seem like he's been doing more drinking than practicing lately. His early stuff is awesome, whether it's No More Tears, Pride and Glory, or Book of Shadows...but lately, he's been so formulaic and predictable that it's just getting kind of old fast.

Just for the record regarding Randy's amp, I don't like the sound of it either, though it looks beautiful! Never liked his tone, but always liked his playing, like Dimebag in that sense to me.

I wish I could travel through time so I could give Randy a Diezel Einstein, then he would have competed with EVH tone wise as well as playing wise, but what can you do :D

Speak of the Devil was a Mesa Mark II amp i believe...i dont like the tone much!

as for Randy's tone...Blizzard wasnt great, but i LOVE Diary's tone. to each his own i guess.

as for the video...i think he said he was "pathetic" because hes not the legend that Randy is etc etc. but still, him saying that while hes so drunk makes him look kinda sad.

i still love Zakk, but man i hope he cleans up some soon. i like my drinkin' too but when it consumes you like it has him its time to turn off the tap!

and to think george lynch auditioned for ozzy....i wonder how that might of been...

tone is a personal thing,....some like redheads with big tits,....some like blondes with long legs...some like bald skinny chicks,....some even like fat chicks...lets just hope they all suck!

To each their own indeed, I thought Speak of the Devil had KILLER tone, especially for a live recording.

Yeah, although I meant to say Blizzard of Ozz originally I do actually have the Speak of the Devil DVD with Gillis playing and I think It's pretty damn good. Gillis is an animal.
