I want to make this awesome 90s japanese Jackson Dinky even awesomer, and replace the JT580 trem with a real Floyd. What are the barriers I will be facing and what trem would you go with?

Well right out the gate, is the factory route going to accommodate the trem you decide to use? You probably wont find that out till you have the trem you want to use and fit it.

Another major consideration, are the bridge post going to align? Do you have the capability of securing dowels in the old bridge posts holes, drill and install new posts?

When I've owned mid-late 80s Jackson Strats I've always swapped the pot metal Jackson Floyds out for OFRs. It was an easy swap out/in for me. Not sure if this bridge is any different from the 80s versions?

I’ve swapped many of these out in the past. No issues. OFR will align with the current posts installed. The OFR posts included when you buy a new OFR are better so I’ve always swapped those out as well. There will be a slight gap in the route as the route was cut for the 580 base plate but it is minimal and just cosmetic. Good luck!
