Mills Acoustics Afterburner 4x12: Straight vs Slant

Those ENGL Pro 4X12’s are freakin’ killer.
The 4X12’s Metropoulos used to make, the replica one’s are the shizz., super good.
In the over built slot, StoneAge is tough to beat.
Old school Bogner 4X12’s are the warmest.
Mesa 4X12’s are the coldest, but kill after a million hours of pummeling.,
I actually dig the OS one’s over their traditional.
I really like the anniversary hardwired Marshall 4X12’s with Heritage H30’s, those are bad ass man.

The Marshall one you mentioned is the cab i have. i've been thinking of swapping a couple speakers though.
 
there is a white, straight k100 / v30 x pattern mills cab at my bands practice space that no one ever touches. overbuilt, overbraced, over hyped (at the start in the late 00's), is spot on.
 
Well i have a strait Mills with V30's and DV77's and it sounds damn fine. Very tight, for an oversize and no flubb and very clear and articulate. Sounds bigger than all my other cabs. A definate addition to any cab collection IMO.

As mentioned, very over built but for metal, it works. I love this cab.
 
I think Mills cabs sound great. I used to have a few of them, but they are a little to big an bulky. the best speaker combination if found was using Scumback H75s/H55s.
 
Since this great thread is still alive, my mills is now rocking 4 H30 Annies, and sounds great. I do dial it in bright to overcome the straightness. Slant cabs are great, and you can get them cheaper a lot of times. I have a randall xl slant cab that is excellent, but cabs come and go, and that overbuilt, overhyped mills cab just doesn't go a goddamned place.

Yep, mine ain't going nowhere either man, they sound massive. A great alternative to other cabs.
 
As a cabinet whore...I've never owned a straight 4x12. I have 4 angled 4x12s at the moment.
