Where are you in Ontario? ( I'm a fellow Ontarien) There are a few ways you could go here. Forum member V2a on this forum builds amps out of BC and he is a really nice guy. I installed one of his mod boards in my 800 and it gave 2 switchable mod options; SAT switch a bit like a Friedman or a bit more gain on tap. These retain the overall tone of your amp. He also may be able to answer any questions you have or give you advice on what you can do.
You could post some pics here and we might be able to tell you how to tweak or undo some of the mods. If you have a layout of a mod you would want done, you could also find a local electronics repairman and bring them a schematic, they could likely wire up what you had in mind but you'd need to have some knowledge to coach them if it were a very involved mod.
I've worked on my own 800 combo and I hate how the board has to come up to make a lot of changes. V2a's mod was cool because could be wired in without the board coming up/out. My other amps are PTP which I built and are much easier to work on. But anyone can build, not many can build well. My stuff is much messier than pro modders and that's why those guys are worth the money. But if you can solder, you can probably get a lot done yourself. A few parts swapped and you will likely be happy.
I would have said R/T mod before but I guess not now. I am surprised his reputation has taken a dive as I thought what he did was straight forward. He rewired the input to be like a plexi, did the one wire mod, installed PPIMV, made it a NMV i believe and made some changes to the filtering. Amp to amp parts varied and were tweaked to ear. Essentially what Rockstah did on the old Metro forum ( RIP he was a great guy and musician). I guess Michael R/T's work was a little sloppy?
Anyways throw some pics up and lets have a look. I'm very familiar with the combo. Mine was a big of a dog but is mostly stock and only sounds good when I turned it way up.
