To be fair, he called his modification 'the R/T' mod, short for Rigtalk. This place is so replete with flame wars and dysfunctionality, the naming of said mod was a stroke of genius. Like a built in buyer beware warning.
I believe it it was R/T mod, because he as a Dodge Charger R/T

Nothing wrong at all Im a big fan of those cars miss my old one every day. Yours is a thing of beauty. Is that a scat pack?
I had a 2016 R/T and had to trade it in for work - I was traveling and had to use my own car, and it wasn't practical.. I've since left that company after Covid..

I missed my Challenger too!! My old one was a 6-speed manual... So I bought this one 2 weeks ago. It's an R/T, but has factory upgraded SRT front splitter, and has factory upgraded active exhaust. Same exhaust as the Hellcat. It was a special order to the original owner. I picked it up with 16,000 miles on it. Its a nasty sounding beast, and that exhaust gets the HP up closer to 400. *IF* you stay off the throttle, it can get 25+ MPG with the Modular Displacement System. It electronically cuts off 4 cylinders at cruising speed. It's pretty slick. LOVE IT. It shakes the house when I hit the remote start in the AM when I go to work!

It's a beautifully toned aggressiveness. Like a boosted Peavey 5150..?

Where are you in Ontario? ( I'm a fellow Ontarien) There are a few ways you could go here. Forum member V2a on this forum builds amps out of BC and he is a really nice guy. I installed one of his mod boards in my 800 and it gave 2 switchable mod options; SAT switch a bit like a Friedman or a bit more gain on tap. These retain the overall tone of your amp. He also may be able to answer any questions you have or give you advice on what you can do.

You could post some pics here and we might be able to tell you how to tweak or undo some of the mods. If you have a layout of a mod you would want done, you could also find a local electronics repairman and bring them a schematic, they could likely wire up what you had in mind but you'd need to have some knowledge to coach them if it were a very involved mod.

I've worked on my own 800 combo and I hate how the board has to come up to make a lot of changes. V2a's mod was cool because could be wired in without the board coming up/out. My other amps are PTP which I built and are much easier to work on. But anyone can build, not many can build well. My stuff is much messier than pro modders and that's why those guys are worth the money. But if you can solder, you can probably get a lot done yourself. A few parts swapped and you will likely be happy.

I would have said R/T mod before but I guess not now. I am surprised his reputation has taken a dive as I thought what he did was straight forward. He rewired the input to be like a plexi, did the one wire mod, installed PPIMV, made it a NMV i believe and made some changes to the filtering. Amp to amp parts varied and were tweaked to ear. Essentially what Rockstah did on the old Metro forum ( RIP he was a great guy and musician). I guess Michael R/T's work was a little sloppy?

Anyways throw some pics up and lets have a look. I'm very familiar with the combo. Mine was a big of a dog but is mostly stock and only sounds good when I turned it way up.

V2a builds great stuff.

Thats an awesome find. It’s very difficult to find a used RT in Ontario with such low miles on it or kilometres as we we use. Especially with the features you have on yours.

I am moving to St Catharines from Toronto. Where about s are you?

I will definitely look in to the V2a route as an option. I will get some pics up soon as i move into my place.

Cheers

I'm from the home of the freedom convoy.., Ottawa ! I don't think you are too far from Audette's/ Michael RT. You could probably drive your amp to him. ( if he's still legit that is)

You’re f’n funny as hell man.

I picked up a Marshall 800 combo for a decent price came with a gain mod and an effects loop. The mod is ok but not great but I bought it to eventually get modded. Since it’s a combo it would be pretty expensive to ship out of country just wondering if anyone knows of some one reputable who is still modding amps in Ontario Canada. I know Glen Morris doesn’t do them anymore but can’t think of any one else.

Cheers
What do you want done to it? There's a wide range of mods and how involved they are. And since yours is already modded, it would be difficult for the person to know what they were getting into.

Do you feel comfortable pulling the chassis to see what's been done inside? Don't do it if you don't. Or at least don't touch anything inside, there can be stored voltages in there.

EDIT: I just rented an R/T Challenger. Was cool for about a day then my old man gene kicked in and I wanted my Subaru back. :ROFLMAO:

There's a guy in Hamilton, name of Chris Church. He advertises on Kijiji. I'll say right off the bat that I can not vouch for his work. I have talked to him about finishing a SLO clone build for me, but I didn't like how the discussion went, so it didn't go anywhere. I got the impression that he's a bit opinionated, but it's hard to say for sure from one conversation.

It's a shame that Glen isn't doing mods and repairs anymore. I always took my stuff to him because he's local, and he's a genius.

I once emailed Chris Church about recapping an amp. Instead of emailing back, he called me at work to discuss it. I didn't provide any such contact information (used a private email account, not a work one). He must've googled my name and found my employer. Even factoring THAT out, I also didn't like how the discussion went regarding fixing my amp. I got major stay the hell away vibes from him.

Funny I just found that guys Kijiji ad.

Looks like he’s done work for Finger 11, Kim Mitchell’s band and Billy Tallent. I was actually looking into contacting him as well.

Wow that is the second stay away experience with this guy.

Looks like a no there as well.

Yeah, sounds like my instincts were spot on.

In my case, he started arguing with me about what parts I wanted used in MY amp.

I still haven't finished my SLO clone. If anyone does find an amp guy near the Niagara Area, I'd love to get this damn thing finished up.
