A few Wizards, a C+ that's getting ++'d, and a Omega Obsidian. Not to sound cliche but I'm going for the brootzWhat amp are you using and what tones are you shooting for

I am in a similar position. I have a Splawn 412 with Redbacks/V30s and love it. I was going to do my Bogner 412 Redbacks/V30s as well but now I am thinking Redbacks/H75s or 4 Redbacks! Are you still liking the Redbacks on their own? To me, they are balanced and warm. Easy to make my amp bright or dark with the EQ.I hate dark and avoided Redbacks for the longest time because it thought they’d be too dark from all the comparison clips I watched.
turns out 4 Rebacks is my favorite! I like it even more than 2 mixed with v30s or H75s. Definitely not too dark. My v30/H75 cab was my prior favorite…it is a little brighter but doesn’t have the girth and punch of 4 redbacks. I do keep a cab with v30/redbacks just for different flavor, but I don’t play as much. I do like playing my redback cab together with my Fryette Fane F70 cab, so I’d imagine those Fanes would mix well with Redbacks in a single cab.
Rick from Wizard recommended Redback/Cream 90 mix…. Never tried that when I had the 90s as I thought it would be too dark/smooth.

So, after seeing your post, I may go Bogner - 4 Redbacks and Splawn - Redbacks/V30s.
Thing about 65s is, they had like 44 different cone codes. I've had 4 different versions, and the only real difference is where the highs sit. The first version Marshall labels T3120s DO fit the bill, of a higher powered GB, not dark at all.I don’t like them. They get better with volume, but I remember them being very muffled and midrangey. The vintage G12-65’s I tried were a lot better though. Not a middle ground of a GB or V30 IME
Thank you.Yeah. 4 redbacks on their own is definitely my favorite. I'd imagine they'd sound great in a bogner cab. @Apex1Rg7X has an Ubercab with v30/Redbacks
There's something about the Bogner cab with the RB's/V30's that isn't sitting well with me. I'm not sure how to explain it tbh. My Friedman cab with the GB's/V30's is definitely my go to cab currently.Yeah. 4 redbacks on their own is definitely my favorite. My Splawn straight cab has Redback/UK V30 and sounds amazing. I'm thinking all Redbacks or Redback/H75 for my Bogner. Believe it or not, RB/CL80 works too. I talked to Coffee cabs and they steered me away from Redback/K100 as there would be too much low end according to them. Not sure if they meant in a 212 cab or 412 cab. I've used RB/K100 in a 212 and it was good but prefer two Redbacks. Curious if it would sound huge in a 412.There's something about the Bogner cab with the RB's/V30's that isn't sitting well with me. 100%Yeah, in the days when WGS Speaker first came out, it was affordable to try all of this and mixing in an X Pattern was the rage
I’ve got two G12-65’s dated to October 1981. They sound KILLER with my SLO and Granger GNR50 (SIR 36 clone). They are magic when cranked. Like a smooth, wide Greenback.I don’t like them. They get better with volume, but I remember them being very muffled and midrangey. The vintage G12-65’s I tried were a lot better though. Not a middle ground of a GB or V30 IME
Yes, the vintage ones I’ve tried are much better. I was referring to the recent made heritage version 65’s. Even at very loud volumes I wasn’t crazy about them. For vintage speakers though there are other speakers still on another level imo, but also a lot more expensive and harder to come byI’ve got two G12-65’s dated to October 1981.
