I have no need to prove myself to anybody even though I understand what Lisa is trying achieve here. I've been here way before OT existed, Skippy. I'm not the one being called out. I haven't been playing much and am not much of a record my stuff let alone post it. But if I do get around to it, it will compose a piece in your honor and call it:

It’s not about proving yourself, it’s about sharing with the community that you think will welcome it.

Most people don't share because they don't feel like it, are not adept in recording or just simply not confident enough with their playing, which is more than OK.

It’s very much a viable reason. It was illustrated in this very thread lol. Thumbpicker who is a fantastic player was given shit for “playing covers”. The same person asking for clips is also shitting on the ones that have been posted. And you say it’s not viable? Fucking stupid.
