Has anyone purchased the Sweetwater modded Marshall DSL40CR? I'm looking at the standard one but I'm wondering if it's worth it to move up to the modded one.

Thanks

Kinda cool they mod it plus the upgraded speaker should help as well. On a budget the original DSL40 C can be had cheap and delivers outstanding tones for usually $400 to $500. If new I'd say get the moded.

I'm curious what the mods do? I thought the new CRs had all the normal mods (from past DSLs) done to them from the factory.

Not sure about the Marshall mods but the Fender ones look great and worth the money......

Not all into the modded stuff..... But some of these mods on them seem pretty practical and worth it.

Good stuff from SweetWater IMO and the prices aren't bad looking at the Fender stuff on the modded Reissues.

I think they add gain to the green clean and revoice both dirty modes sound less modern and more JCM800/Hot Rodded. Also a Creamback 65.

These for the Princeton Reverb Reissue go for 1899.99..... regular price is 1600$ pretty much.....

So IMO here with all these mods off the rack or out of the box for 300$ more..... And a tweed version too with a 12 inch speaker.... It's a pretty good deal and I imagine with the Marshall stuff you're getting equal value..... IMO that would more than hold it's value and gain more value in the long run for the Fender MIA amps and stuff..... Same I figure for the Marshall stuff especially the UK/MIE made stuff..... Maybe not so much for the Vietnamese/Overseas Marshalls but yeah still would add value from a practical view in regards to tone and such for the player not able to afford a UK version.

iMO it's a lot of value added for a more than fair price and these are some pretty good fucking mods. I was going to come in and shit on the idea of having SweetWater do mods because I imagined they would have charged an arm and a leg or some stupid upcharge but for what you get this is a great deal for players and adds a tone of value and practical mods anyone can appreciate.
