My band just posted three rough demo cuts from our upcoming debut release. They are here:

Let me know what Y'all think, and brownie points for guessing the amps used on the recordings.
Enjoy!!

That 3550MZ is definitely beautiful. Also, the 24-fret S models are awesome if you love the Les Paul sound but want the flexibility of a super Strat. The S series have mahogany bodies. Check out the S570MQM. May be my next purchase (Bright Blue Burst).
My main recommendation would be to stick...
Being a fan of the RG565, AND Laser Blue, I just couldn't resist...
Picking 'er up today and will hopefully have some info to report shortly thereafter.
For selling lower-end speaker cabinets? I currently have two 4x12's I'm trying to sell. One is a stock Crate Blue Voodoo 412A with stock speakers, casters, good condition, a minor tolex rip here or there, mono/stereo switchable 4/16ohms mono, 8 stereo, rear-loaded; local deal only but first $125...
Got a Splawn 4 x 12 from Reza--awesome price and he was incredibly accommodating around my busy work schedule. I'm so jealous because when we met to do the transfer he was on his way to TM to pick up his Dirty Shirley half-stack
You can deal with Reza without hesitation.
Thanks Reza...
Any thoughts? Amp belongs to a friend who told me this:
Power tubes showed signs of going bad and output tube fuse was blowing. Replaced the power tubes with a similarly - rated, matched quad. Now amp won't even power up.
This is where I got involved.
I can measure 117V all the...
If you were looking to reduce the number of heads in your arsenal, which ones would you sell, and why? Note: you play in two bands--one rock/metal originals and the other pop/cover tunes.
GO!
Here are two clips of the Rhodes Colossus; one in a band setting and one by itself.
The differences in the clips are:
Band=Avatar 2 x 12 cab with Splawn Small Block Speakers
Solo=Marshall 4 x 12 cab with G12T-75 Speakers
...and of course the different rooms.
Band Setting:

...does it not exactly line up in a rack? I tried to put mine in in an 8-space rack that I have and I had to off-set it by 1/2 RU at the top and bottom which effectively turns my 8-space into a 7-space. Anybody else experience this or are my racking skills completely off?
Dimensions: 3.44" H x...
Looking at the Fiend, JVM410H new is $2400??
Then, you gotta love this--the 1936 2 x 12 is $649, but the JVM410H + 1936 1/2 stack is $2549?
$2700 for the 4-channel 2x12 combo?
Are they just trying to make silly margin off fan boys and kids whose parents have the scratch to burn...
...and it's called the Rhodes Colossus. I'll do a more thorough and comprehensive review once my time with the amp has ended, but after just one rehearsal I can tell you that this is the amp that will change the tube amp landscape. There's basically four channels but with the "bright," "fat,"...
of the tube mean? I had a quad of 6550's in a VH4 for a few months and I just pulled them and replaced them with a set of EL34s. The 6550s each have a round black/scorch mark on the side of the tube on the inside, all in the same specific place where there's a small circle on the inside of the...
...do Eminence speakers look better-constructed than Celestions, and at a lower price point? Specifically, I'm looking at the Private Jack, Black Powder, & Screaming Eagle models.
Are you just paying for the Celestion "name" & history?
Anyone have experience with these speakers? Not loving...
So I was using Herbert the other day and plugged in a 5-pin midi cable, connected it to a Rocktron Midi Mate, and began programming. Thing is, it didn't seem to be accepting my MIDI programming on specific channels.
Example:
Button 1 on the MIDI MATE programmed to CH1--all OK
Button 2 on the...
As many of you know I have an amp or two. I recently started jamming in a band with another guitar player. His rig consists of a Metallica-Mod MarkIV into a Marshall 1960BV (V30's).
I took a Crate Blue Voodoo cab over (filled with Mesa V30's) and am having a hard time finding an amp that works...
So I was thinking about this. I swapped out the EL34's in my VH4 for 6550's. Is the amp still 100W or is it now over, say around 110 or 120 due to the new valves?
Thanks in advance!
