That has a Slash like tone to me. Too much gain? Would like to hear that before you made the mod. :rock:
 
Sounds good to me. .022 is an interesting choice. The .68 was too much?

To go further would require a partial front end tear down. Like splitting the V1 cathodes which would require running shielded wire from the inputs to V1 and mounting the 68Ks on the socket. Then setting it up like a Mod 5 adding a 470K and a bypass cap after the 1st stage coupling cap before the 1st volume pot.

You don't want to lose what you've got. It'a really good combo the way it is.

I think I could back the gain off a bit more, maybe tighten up the bottom end.

I think it sounds amazing. Rich in harmonics and as far as the gain is concerned, I love it !

I wouldn't touch a dam thing on it now. I always say that the final test is how it cuts in a band.

My 5153 50 watt stock cuts easily and sounds killer. But this amp you have here is a Marshall Masterpiece.

Again, I'd leave it alone as to me it is 100% pure marshall kick ass tone !!

Right amount of gain, full bodied rhythm.
Has that nice bounce to it when muting & chirp on lead notes.

Isn't everyone tired of Van Halen?? I sure as hell am. I could go the rest of my life without hearing another VH song, riff, lick. Please God, grant me this wish!

Good tone and playing, but it just sounds like another typical Marshall to me. They all sound the same.

-to be honest,... I have seen him on more than one occasion when he totally sucked!!! drugs? I don't know,..
but I saw him totally kick ass on the FREHLEY's COMET TOUR,..-(ROCK SOLDIERS KICKS ASS!!)-

-now a days it's "ok" to say ACE was/is a good guitarist,..

-how many here can say that KISS put a guitar in there hands,.. ME!!!

Ace was the reason I started playing guitar, 8 years old and wanted to play like Ace Frehley. :)
He's no Guthrie Govan, but I still appreciate his awesome contribution to hard rock music. :thumbsup:

That is the rock tone that people have been chasing since Ace hit the scene.
