Congrats Brad, it looks killer from what I can see
I wish I lived closer :aww:
Guitar center has wiped out all the cool retailers in my area, sounds like you have a good plan. It takes balls to get that rolling in this economy.
Good luck in your endeavor ;)

Well the time has finally come for me to open my Boutique Guitar Shop on the East Coast, King Guitar Ltd. This has been in the works for 2 years now and now its the time to launch it in 2012. This is my vision of the ultimate laid back premium guitar shop. Highly interactive web presence being developed now and will be at: http://www.KingGuitar.com

The shop is located in a gorgeous renovated 150 year old waterfront mill in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. It is not huge but it feels perfect to me with 25 foot ceilings, hardwood floors and massive windows. The beauty of having it located in Rhode Island is all brands and lines will be available to me as there is no high end guitar shop coverage in the smallest state in the USA until now.

Of course my main business will be offering gear online though my website in the vein of Wild West, Music Zoo, Wildwood etc...I hope to have the support of the Rig-Talk community but I do not take it for granted and know I need to have great products at competitive prices with world class service to earn the business. I just hope you continue to give me the oppurtunity.

My showroom back east will be open by appointment as I also have a home in North Hollywood, CA now and travel there monthly to keep track of my business out there and to network with top builders and musicians.

I am currently lining up brands I would like to represent in my shop. Many of the deals are already done which is cool and others I hope to be able to secure at NAMM. I only will carry premium guitars and amps, thats what we do. I will also have killer used and vintage gear available as well.

My targets for product lines are as follows as I am open to any suggestions you guys may have that you think would be a good addition I may want to check out.

Diezel. Suhr. Bogner. 65 Amps. Soldano. Tone King. Two Rock. Cameron. Friedman. Fortin. EVH. Luxxtone. Tom Anderson Guitarworks. Trussart Guitars. Tyler Guitars. National Steel. Bartlett Guitars. Charvel. Zvex. Strymon. Eventide. Fulltone. Klon. Rocket Pedals. Trailer Trash. Bradshaw. MXR.

I am open to all suggestions and would love to include the membership here in helping to build your favorite guitar shop.

Thanks For the Continued Support.

Josh,

I have a loft in North Hollywood I am moving into next week (Lofts at NoHo Commons). Not quite as cool as the east coast shop but still real cool with bamboo floors and huge ceilings. Once I get in there you will have to come over and have a beer and jam.

Man Brad.....that place looks beautiful!!! Congrats on finally making it a reality. I'm sure this is going to be the most bad-ass store on the East Coast!

I have a feeling I will be going there way too much

Any chance we can sticky this thread?

Congratulations Brad! That looks like an excellent space for a Boutique Guitar Shop. I wish you much success!

I live on the West Coast, but I will buy stuff from you whenever possible just to support. Good luck man!

SWEET. . .I'll definitely use it as an excuse to head to RI on an excursion to the beach , or to Boston from VT! Looks awesome. . .

Eric

That DBZ website is pretty incredible. Killer lookn' axes too. Damn.

Wow! I tried to tell some gear page mods years ago they should pursue commercial endorsements. I commend you for maximizing the business side of this awesome forum. The music instrument sales business has been wild the last decade. Big opportunities for online, customer driven STORES. There are many mfg's that you can trust without playing(a realistic return policy helps).
