That Angel is sexy.

+1

I must live under a rock. Had no idea the Angel existed until I saw these pics. Another sweet-looking addition to the TA line.

Had a Cobra S for years that played and felt like a dream. Was my favorite guitar in that respect, but for whatever reason, was kinda' lacking when amplified. Reluctantly parted ways with it recently.

Between the Angel and the killer Bulldog I saw today, I think I need to throw some more $ at Mr. Anderson. :D

I wish he'd consider going back to the old neck joint. I had one with the new wedge neck joint and never could get it to sound or sustain as well as I thought it should. Really wonder if it's that wacky neck joint. But maybe that particular guitar was just a dud. I still have an older one with the more typical block heel, and it's an incredible instrument.

Not to derail the thread but I also don't understand the offset bolt position on the new wedge neck joint, since wood can flex and shift over the years it seems like it would be more practical to have the bolts centered like a PWE. That being said Tom gets so much right it wouldn't scare me off from buying one.

A great read on how strong this new neck joint is: http://www.andersonguitars.com/support/wedgie.cfm

I've got a newer Anderson Drop Top Classic and I LOVE the neck joint. I didn't really understand the two-bolt deal at first. But all I know is that this TA sustains almost as well as my LPs. I never thought I'd really gel with a strat for rock again until I played this. Now, the LPs rarely come out of their cases! My TA is definitely no dud!

I'm a huge fan of the 2 bolt neck. That's one of the reasons that I sold my '87 Bowling Ball and bought another Bowling Ball form '09. The neck joint and stainless frets are a huge step up from the older TAs IMO.

They are not wood screws into the body. The body has threaded inserts if anyone is wondering.

Interesting is that white S Classic on the far right of the last pic has the input jack on the face and not on the edge. I read on their FB page it has a full sized Strat body shape. Their usual S Classic is a bit smaller.

It is new this year. I believe they are calling it the Icon Classic.

That is a really cool looking beast! Would you mind sharing the specs (esp. Wood and "color"/finish)

Love it. I always loved wood finish. Unfortunately it's not that common as it is in basses.

I'll look it up tomorrow at work, all I remember is ordering a Koa Drop Top and Roy asked if wanted it to be a NAMM guitar and I said sure... I just don't remember the the pickups and body wood. There is a pic on our store's (Wildwood) facebook of my boss holding it too.

I'll let you know

Yeah, I was a little skeptical at first, until I got mine and then it blew me away - there's just so much sustain and the guitar feels so 'alive' compared to most bolt-ons..

I saw a pic somewhere (their facebook page?) where someone's girlfriend had beaten the shit out of their A-wedgie guitar and it was wrecked but the body and neck wood around the neck joint were still attached together..
