My understanding, in reference to the Friedman IR-Load, is that it has built in technology to react to the speaker cab the same way a Friedman 100w BE does.
Would be way cooler if it mapped the way any power amp reacted to cab, and saved it as setting. So then you could, for example, plug in your Mesa Mk2C+, and route it thru your saved Marshall 100w "learned power amp" setting, ala Metallica. Or run a Vox AC30 into the Friedman unit, and route it thru your saved SLO100 setting. Basically, match any fully loaded amp, to a different amps power amp profile. Perhaps I'm over-thinking that.

Yeah. What you said is what I imagined by that over marketed name of machine learning. Not quite as advanced in reality though.

well that's not so special IMO.

At the very least, I'd want it to recognize the preamp and adjust the power amp to match if that's what I asked for; and then adjust for the IR being used at least the type of cabinet and speakers combination on the DI out.

What was your preference if you had one between the Deliverance and Pittbull. I used to watch your demos on YouTube back in the day all time. Back when YouTube wasn’t influencers and I just had a curiosity for amp demos.
For pure tone, I remember liking the Deliverance a little more. It’s a beast! I wish I still had both amps.,

Influencers ruined YouTube!

how popular would a new high quality US/UK tube factory be with state of the art technology improving on antiquated designs and components?

It wouldn't because the tubes would be $100+ a pop

IIRC there have been at least 2 attempts to even manufacture tubes in the US and neither produced anything

Fun video from Nielsen on a few of the Synergy offerings.. I think the Wampler sounds pretty good for what it is and likely it's pricepoint compared to the Big Daddy Friedman.

I'm definitely curious to see more about those power amps. The pedal one could be amazing for my little AM4 setup I've been fucking around with. I hate all the other Class D power amps I've tried.

Fender is changing the 2 Phillips screws in the tremolo and renaming an entire series

shut up and take my money.gif

Agree.. with one of the tube preamp pedals on the floor, this could be UGE. I think they came out with this in anticipation of expanding the tube preamp pedal line. This would certainly support it.

Quad Cortex Mini...same DSP, 4 footswitches, about half the size and a few less I/O. I wonder where they price this...

The buried lead in his video though is the preamp he tried through the wampler, the new Tone King Royalist preamp. It is also a NAMM new announcement I believe.

I was going to say..the other toneking pedal was more clean and the Fender thing and this thing had that Plexi crunch. Sounded really good to my ears. Man, they are making a case for all this stuff and no longer needing to mic anything

Yeah, I thought he made a slip at first when he said royalist, but then the tone sounded more Marshall-esqe. I really like the preamp pedal format, and have for decades all the way back to my old Mesa V-Twin (which was decent but nothing great). I have already owned the IR-X, the IR-J, but they just didn't do it for me and have been sold. I considered the Imperial and this one seems interesting but what I really want is an IR-SLO pedal. They make that happen and I am sold.

I have to think this is on the horizon..both channels, in purple or snakeskin....take my money too!

This is disappointing

What the hell is this? Considering all the interest over all these years for the Ultralead to be re released they decide to not listen to their customer base and instead put out something completely different. And no graphic 6 band EQ >>> Really ???

I get companies want to evolve and they are not faulted for it . it just would of been nice to have had the option to have the original design available again as there is a market for it, but instead well... there is this
