I think I'm wavering towards the Ultra +

Does it do what the 5150 does though?

How are the cleans?

The Cleans are great! so much more useable than the 5150. The gain channels are great, they are just a warmer 5150, and it likes celection G12 T 75s

Awesome! I really want one now... and if I sold my current rig I could afford one and a Mesa 412.

my 5150 II I find is either too bright or too muffled depending on settings, it's irritating, I absolutley love it, it slays in a live setting, but I'm using it in my bedroom 95% of the time.

How about the new-ish 6534? Is it just a 5150/6505 with EL34's, or is there more to it?

I've heard great things about it, I'd definitely consider buying one, but I'm tempted by the others beause they cost less used than my 5150 II.

I feel the presence and resonance that the JSX has really sets that amp apart from the the other amps in the Ultra Series.
When playing a XXX I found I hit a virtual wall when I couldn't adjust the pres and res on the amp. It seemed to be all it needed, but didn't have to be fully tweaked to my liking.
I also liked the crunch and ultra channels on the JSX better than the XXX. They sound more lively and less buzzy.

I have owned a 5150 and a Classic 50. I liked the Classic 50 better and I am a gain guy.

I have played the XXX, 3120, and Ultra+. Something must have been wrong with the Ultra+ but it didn't sound like the other two at all. I prefered the 3120 from what I can remember.

I own a VTM60 currently and it sounds great. Cleans up well with the guitar volume knob and the dip switches are cool. If I had the option today to own only one it would be the 3120.
