Goofy question, but it's bugging me.

A few years ago there was a show on MTV/VH1 about a bunch of 80's hair metal bands that used to play the strip. One band they showed had a video where they were playing and images of Marilyn Monroe were superimposed over the band. I think the song was about her.

Anyone know what the name of that band is?

Sorry that's not the video I'm thinking of. It was a local LA band. Thanks anyway.

Was it Candle in the wind

Seriously though I don't know if it was Monroe or Mansfield they both were blonds

La guns did the Ballad of Jayne she was in a lot of the clips and I think they were in a field
Maybe that's what our thinking ?

No, that's not it. The song I remember was heavy (distorted).

That's it!!!!! You're a life saver. This has been bugging me for the past several years (yes, I have issues...).

Unfortunately this is the band. And may i add, which is no where in the same planet as the mighty Celtic Frost I grew up lovng.
Thank god Tom G. Warrior came back to normal. I'm sure their management at the time thought this was a good idea being that the $$ was coming from this type of L.A. style music. All the diehard long time Frost fans including myself, hated this and walked on them.

His new band triptykon kicks ass and is very much imo old school Frost style.

This is the real Celtic Frost

I had never seen the softer side of Celtic Frost. The old stuff is far superior

Cool, happy to help.

Man....that was awful

I remember this period all too well... utter disbelief  Reminds me of when Priest released Turbo.

As a long time Frost fan from the very beginning, I fucken blew a gasket when this album came out, and remember throwing this tape out my window on the way home from the record store. There was literally nothing on this album that was the CF I had grown to love! Gone were the sludgy heavy friggen riffs, the trademark Warrior grunts and groans, and the apocalyptic look of the band. Was happy that this was a flash in the pan but wow, one of the worst decisions for the direction of a band who at the time taking Metal into 'The Pandemonium'. Hard to watch this!

I remember seeing the album in stores and laughing at the pic on the back saying to myself "Awesome, Celtic Frost is ripping hard on these glam bands". I literally thought it was joke until i played the record. Biggest face palm ever.

I'd forgotten about this. Thanks. Just threw up in my mouth...

agreed. Tune sucks and they are cheese ball. That said, no judgement, I loved Cinderella and still think they kick ass! The market got over saturated in the late 80's and early 90's. I mean Trixter? lol pleaaaase.

Agreed, Trypticon are badass. Have you heard "Morbid Tales" and "To Mega Therion?" Those two albums are masterpieces. "Into the Pandemonium" was really avant garde, bur still a strong album. I understand why somebody wouldn't dig it though. I don't know what the fuck he was thinking on "Cold Lake."
