I like rectos now but I my friends all had them so I went another way . I was using 5150 for death metal back in those days . To be honest I’ve always played live with some version of EVH . It just gets me that fear factor cut with more harmonics . I’m using stealth live atm

i didnt know if we were talking personal takes or the overall guitar world, i picked based on overall. i never got a recto or 5150 back in the day at least cause they were just everywhere, i stuck with my vh140c when i was playing death metal

3-channel recto (especially multi-watt) are nice. Otherwise SLO.

The 5150 is just a SLO with a shit clean channel.

Some people trash talk about the 5150 and Recto because of how... let's call it "inspired by" the SLO they are.

But how much trash can you really talk when both of them sound better?

did the SLO derive from anything, or is it a unique design?? i thought Marshalls were basically tweaked Fenders, with Mesa being tweaks of both those and so on??
