I had it retubed today and then it started crapping out. It started turning off and on and then the lights started blinking.

What's up?

All blinking at the same time?? Either a mute or MIDI command issue.

Hey James.

Your midi controller chip might have gotten zapped by a bad tube or a spike, but that's just a guess based on stuff I've read here. I'd send an email Peter if you haven't already. He should be able to get you all fixed up. :)

Sounds like the MIDI chip or board. Does it happen every time you turn it on or just once? Happened to me once but turning the power off/on and disconnecting/reconnecting power fixed it. Never happened again since.

If it happens every time then it sounds like something happened to the midi chip or midi board. Just a guess though. Peter knows best.

Peter I realize now I should have sent you an email in the first place but I was so freaked out last night thinking the guy who biased the amp f'd it up. I've had it 3 years with no issues, the amp has always been perfect I will get you the s/n. thanks

Please no concerns James.

The conrtoller was maybe damaged by a
high voltage spike from a bad power tube.

We have different controllers:

Till 2005 we had the AT89S8252.

Then the maufacture stopped production
and released the AT89S5253.

Please let me know which type is inside.

The difference is that the old one has
two 33pF caps located on the oscillator quartz
and the new one is running with 2 x 4,7pF caps.

I easily can send You the controller, new caps and/or a
complete midi board.

Cheers,
Peter

Yeah. Wow. Peter is a good man.

Papa never ceases to amaze us & take care of his kiddies!!!

I know, problem solved. What a great company. The company I got the tubes from said they will replace any bad tubes too. All is good in Lugoland!

The tech went through it and it was a couple of bad tubes that were the issue. He emailed me yesterday and couldn't believe how great the amp sounds.
