Easily one of his best songs ever and this live version is just amazing! Can't wait for this DVD!!

One of my favorites. Always keep at least one guitar in open C or B just because. Was just playing this about 20 minutes ago. Dude is a badass.

That's a great song! I met Ryan a few months ago and he's just a super, super nice guy..

Haha! "If you feel like it at any point though, ya know, pick a tempo."

I find his stuff hit or miss (sometimes it's a bit too weird), but that's easily my fav song of his. Open tunings with high gain are rare but awesome. Any idea what guitar he's playing? I've never seen one like it before and never researched his gear!

Framus guitars, for both of them I believe.

His tone is PERFECT. That is what I hear in my head when I think of high gain guitar tone. It's HUGE, with a lot of gain, and yet really clear. Even on shitty laptop speakers, I can "feel" (or perceive) the low end. Obviously it's all in my head, but it really feels like it's alive.

The story I've heard is that his guitars are ghost-built by a guy here in Vancouver, but I'm not sure if that's really true or just gossip..

He was peavey, now framus. Devin is one of the nicest and approachable dudes I have met at the venue I work. He uses a lot of reverb in his tones, and also backing tracks love, which is fine.

That stage setup with all the lcd's looks sweet. I am glad success has bestowed him. Although some albums are a bit much, ocean machine and accelerated evolution are awesome.

Thanks for posting Chad. I have been watching boots of this show on YouTube for the last couple of months, anxiously waiting for the official release, yet I had no idea it comes out next Friday (11/13):

I'm having a hard time trying to find somewhere in the US that I can pre-order the "Deluxe Artbook" package from (artbook, 3 CDs, 2 DVDs, 1 Blu-Ray) or at least the CDs & Blu-Ray. I usually order Dev's stuff through CMDistro.com, but all they have is a CD/DVD digipack, no Blu-ray. The only other places are overseas where the exchange rate to USD and/or the shipping costs are very steep (for my cheap ass anyway).

One of my favorite tunes of his for sure! He's one of the few that sound better live than on record. That was huge sounding!

No problem Scott! I pre ordered it and paid a little more because I can't wait for the Blu Ray. I just went through his website.Really looking forward to this as the HD shot show looks and sounds amazing. A show like this is more than just a live concert. It is an experience.

The video he did of Kingdom I think for Boss, is great.

The one from EMG? I love it too Dave!

One of my favorite artists. Deserves everything he has achieved. What a great vocal too.

Agreed Reza! The vocals from the 6:30 mark through the end are just so raw and powerful. He just kills it!

That's cool Rian! I don't have a problem at all with some backing as you can still hear how well he sings and plays. The backing adds layers and turn it into a killer listening experience. He also performs shows that are a little more raw but I prefer this type of show from Devin. One of my very favorite artists!

The first Ziltoid album is genius, the second has it's moments. I love most of Devin's music, even his crazier sounding albums. SYL "alien" has got to be his masterpiece IMO. It's such a dark disturbed sounding album. I love it. Can't forget "Ki" which is one of the coolest relaxing, mellow albums ever.

Devin never stops writing, he's a workaholic with his music... releasing new albums every year. I don't think he ever takes a break from the studio?? maybe just to tour for a bit??

He is so prolific. Always writing, producing, recording, performing, etc. One of my favorite musicians. My favorite tune from the Z2/Blue Sky releases:
