Analog delay

As stated above, the Carbon Copy is very nice and warm. Most people think a delay or reverb should be a mirror image of the original source. But in reality and in nature, echoes and reverb drop off some of the higher frequencies at every repeat. This makes for a more natural sounding effect. I think it's a plus with the CC.

anyone have some experience with the EH Memory Toy?

I didn't really like it. There was just something about it that didn't sound right but I can't put my finger on it. Especially side by side with the Carbon Copy. That's just my experience tho. It may be different for you.

Guys I've listened to a LOT of delays... And to my Ear... NOTHING - NOTHING! Beast a Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay!

Eventide's are great and all... But not my cup of tea... It just doesn't sound like a guitar anymore, You know what I mean? It sounds like a processed effect. If that's what you're after then it's all good.. I wanted a Natural, Transparent delay, that still sounds like a GUITAR. And The Organic sounding Nutty Professor Fills the Bill better than anything else I've tried... Including the Carbon Copy, and the Maxon AD999

Best,

I wasn't a huge fan of the Toy or Boy when I tried them.
However, I tried them in a shop, so I didn't really spend a lot of time....but having read hundreds of posts about how they just stop working, I don't think I'd ever want to own either.

Damn Roid you beat me to it!

DEEP BLUE DELAY

+1 on the mad professor. Amazing sounding analog voiced digital delay. Far too expensive for what it is but it sounds stellar.

the secret to the mad professor is the filtering, Bjorn Juhl spent alot of time tweaking the filters to get it just right. it not only filters highs off of each repeat to simulate the analog delay, but it also filters lows as well. each repeat the bandwidth gets thinner an thinner toward the center midrange. I spent alot of time dialing in my g major2 to sound this way with good results.

I'm going to try the carbon copy
I wanted a replex, its just too expensive right now

based on the reviews here, the carbon copy may be the ticket
