His lead playing just makes me laugh. Congratulations, you can play faster than 99.9% of the population on Earth. Now go learn to play with some feel and emotion. He's one of the most boring shred guitarists ever IMO.

Some may disagree with me but i think anyone can do what Cooley does. Spend enough time locked in a room with a metronome and you'll be shredding if you robotically practice it. Guitarist's do admire that skill and i do myself but i can't listen to someone who isn't a musician. IMHO, there's TONS of guys who can play guitar but are not musicians. I think it's something you're born with and there's not a lot of people in this world lucky enough to have it.

Rusty Hate......

Axe FX Hate......

Just wait till Obama has an Axe FX in the White House, then lets see what this forum does, I am guessing implode.

Rusty is good at what Rusty does, I love shred but he is one of the least favorite by far. I however do not think anybody can achieve this no more than everybody can achieve good vibrato, etc... We each are limited by our personalities, and music like art is mostly in the eye of the beholder. How else could Rap have ever become popular?

Cool for Cliff another high profile user has his unit in hand, the Axe FX is great and has already begun setting boundaries for the future. I think if I ever want anything with more gain than my 20th XTC the Axe FX would be the perfect high gain tool. I know it does other stuff well also, not trying to lump it into gain only, just have the other stuff covered.

I was gonna say this but I'm glad you said it first, so I can simply agree with you

I truly believe pretty much anybody with a guitar could do what he does. I honestly think all you need is lots of time, lots of drive and a metronome. It doesn't take any musicality or feeling to shred like that and every player could do it with enough of what I mentioned. You couldn't say that about a lot of "famous" players.

You people that did not watch the 2nd video missed out .... it has this great Hawaiian wedding / gerbils and humming birds having violent sex feel too it. I dislike shred now more than I did ten years ago.
