Just got a new reworked version of the Mesa Dual Rectifier and it totally kills! I've never been a Mesa fan, but this thing is something else, especially when it's boosted with your OD of choice with the gain turned all the way down. I just can't believe how killer this thing is! If you haven't tried it yet, then do yourself a favor and check it out! Several features on it now that used to just be on the Roadster and Roadking. Can't get enough of this damn amp though! Trust me on this one, plus it's priced at $1,799 new which is $200 less than they used to be. That's my two cents for what it's worth, now somebody please buy my stuff I have for sale here! I've gotta pay off the GC card now!

Just what I need!!!!!! More GAS!!!!!!! I'll check one out when GC gets one in.

I'm really wanting to check one out too.

The wife says new washer and drier first. :aww:

Yeah, blew my mind. Never expected it to be this good!

I love the new recto. Try the triple it has more bottom end and headroom that's what I am going for.

I've been wondering if it'd be worth it to sell my 3 channel and buy the new one. I guess I'll have try it out to know for sure. Sounds promising though.

If no one's heard this yet, here's a clip of mine in action. No EQ:

Greg, that clip KILLS.
Here's a very short demo of the new recto I found. Just one riff played through each channel/mode. Not a great demo, but it sounds like the gain is much more usable and like the modern mode of channel 2&3 is better matched to the vintage mode. Sounds like it has a better response also. Greg are the tranny's different?

I don't think so. I just think that the refined it a bit. I love it.

Cant she wash the clothes by hand????  Daddy needs a new Recto!!!!!
The clips sound great!!

How is the bottom end on it? Is it muddy or flubby like the older versions. I really liked some of the Mesa gear just always hated the muddiness they have on the bottom end. I always thought if they could just tighten it up it would be a killer amp.

How would you compare it to the older 3 channel models?

Don't know any truth to the rumor, but someone mentioned Mesa said they had new transformers in them too.

Just picked up a new Dual Rec and I am very impressed !

I had a chance to demo it for the weekend and honestly wasn't expecting much , but I am still blown away by this amp !!!

It has a much better tone and the sizzle factor that I always had issues with is gone . the bottom end is tighter , and the amp is much , much easier to dail in great tones in record time.

I really feel that this covers alot of ground . in fact I was able to dail in a really convincing Dream theater ( Pull Me Under ) tone on the Orange channel in the vintage mode , and even get a cool Nevermore ( Dead Heart in a Dead World ) tone on the Red Modern channel .

All in all this is IMHO the best Recto I have ever played and I have owned a few early 90's ones and a 07 and they didn't come close .
Also I am using a Xotic BB preamp for the leads and it is really a singing liquid tone .

Good mention on the BB preamp. I'm using that or my vintage 1982 Boss OD-1. It really gives it what it needs for an extremely heavy sound! Second day and still loving it. Was glad that it wasn't just wishful thinking after playing it again today to find it to be the same badass as yesterday!

I went to play one and all they had were 09's :(

Snagged me a Mesa 2x12 though

Holy Crap it's Lauren "muthafuckin'" Rice. I used to work with this guy at Music Power (known as Guitar Trader) in San Diego many years ago. He did a spot on Angus in an AC/DC band we did back then. Awesome player and one of the most stand up guys I've ever known. Guys if you want to buy on-line to avoid sales tax and you're not in Cali I heartily recommend calling Music Power, see if they have anything you need and ask for Lauren. I still get anything I can from him and just get it shipped to me in WA.

Now back to the Mesa. I'm not a lover of Recto's but all the qualities of Recto's I don't like I didn't hear in that demo. Sounds like the new recto is well tweaked.

Maybe GC will now whore out the 09's like they did the Stiletto series 1. I'm still pissed I didn't pick up a Stiletto 1 for $899, I think it was.

My Stiletto Trident was about a $1000 after tax. I have not done a gig with it and it has been in it's box most of the life. If you are interested ..... let me know, I have too many amps.

Any chance any of the guys that have played the new recto have played a Roadster? How do they compare?

Thanks much!
