I'm thinking about getting a new beater for the house and was eyeing out those Stratacoustic and or Telecoustic guitars. Just curious if there are any issues with staying in tune and possibly build quality. An acoustic with an electric guitar neck seems like it would be fun for a daily beater. Any thoughts?

Are those the thinline acoustic guitars with electric necks? I've played a few and they weren't bad. For $120 bucks or less, I say go for it. I think dean makes something similar in an ML shape.

Stratacoustic?

Reminds me of the Kramer Ferrington I used to have.

Yeah those are the ones. Amazon has them new for $349, saw a used one on craigslist for $200. I'm looking at Dean's now... there is a Dean Mako Dave Mustaine model that looks interesting... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...staine-acoustic-electric-guitar#productDetail

And yeah they totally look similar to the Kramer acoustics.

Thank you!

I had one and quite frankly it was horrible. Tone wise it was okay, pretty thin compared to a full size acoustic as one would expect but that was not a problem for me. The main thing was playability... the one I got had very high action and was pretty stiff. Maybe this was just the one I got but I really didn't like it.

they sound like total shit , look elsewhere..
