Anyone here used a 5150III 50w and JVM410H? Thoughts?

For lower gain sounds the YJM rules. Why take a JVM or a EVH ?
I had the JVM410. Same experience. Sometimes fine, sometimes thin and cardboardy. The EVH is a better amp in all aspects. Running the Blue on low or the green in high gain will get you to those low gain sounds pretty good.
But the best for those things is the YJM. Roaring Plexi with a built in boost, reverb and noisgate with moderate sound levels. No brainer. The boost is great and you can get to high gain territoríy with it easily. Takes pedals well too. But it's not for the faint at heart. It will show all your playing weaknesses if there is any. If you are in good command of your instrument, it's a tone monster.

Well, there's always a YJM for that yeh but I do need more than that.

Haven't compared the 50 watt (never played it) but the 100w EVH blows the JVM out of the water IMO. I don't know what it is about the JVM but I really didn't like it much. Your "meh and thin" description is right on in my book. It's very lackluster and generic/uninspiring to me. :dunno:

The JVM sounds like it would be perfect for me but I keep trying them and walk away not wanting one, maybe it's the cabinets they're one....I don't know. They have boat loads of gain but they sound like they thin out if you lower the gain. I had better luck with a DSL boosted with a Boss SD-1 on a Greenback cab.

But I'd be looking at the Yngwie or Satch amp if I were looking to get a new Marshall. If volume wasn't an issue for me I'd just get a JCM800 with a Boss SD-1. Get a good JCM and you won't have to mod the thing to get "that" tone.

I tried one through several cabs and had the same thought when I left. Just didn't do it for me. I'd like to try the Satch version. I also want to try the Slash Marshall because I think it sounds pretty good in a lot of clips. I said I'd never try that amp...

I have the mini and the 210h and they are totally different and both great..I give the nod to the evh cause the blue channel is so great and Im using it mainly as a high gain channel...turn the gain down and the crunch is awesome, the 210h sounds really good too and has alot of options and great footswitch...its really a toss up for me . btw the 210h with a tube swap helps alot..but Id go evh for my $
