Anyone NOT like a FR brass block upgrade?

Well, I put the original block in. Lost some sustain, it's brighter, and the bottom sounds more like it's supposed to. I guess the moral of the story is while it will affect the tone, not all guitars "benefit" from the brass block.

Curt...tell me more about the titanium block. I wasn't aware of an actual FR branded one...may be worth trying.
Yeah, I'm curious about this one as well. I knew FR made a titanium trem, but didn't know you could buy the block separately.

Floyd makes a titanium block that is the same size as the standard block and sells for about $75. I have one on my 2011 custom shop Charvel and it is lighter than the standard block and sounds great. I have a couple of extras right now if anyone wants one.

Cool. Thanks. Can you describe how the tone of the Titanium block compares to the stock block or the FU brass block?

I agree!! It changed the tone drastically on my Charvel 2005 pointy headstock reissue . Very bright and tinny sounding now!! I might just go back to the original block.

+1

Big brass block added sustain but I lost bite/clarity in my Mockingbird SL. Put in an FU Ti block and got the top end back :) The same big brass block sounds killer in my Jackson Soloist.
