Anyone use Sweetwater Gear Exchange?

To each their own. I don't believe ups is better or worse than fedex. Low wage entry level employees at each company.

It’s ridiculous… They all do it now.. I know quite a few people who quit selling on reverb/ebay because of this.. Check out this poor guy:

Well, except for the fact that it's already been taxed before. Used items should be tax free as you're already losing money most of the time by the fact that you're selling it used. Are you one of the people who support taxing unrealized gains in stocks too?

My main issue with FedEx is they are always late and the customer support is non existent. Something will be out for delivery for 3 days in a row and CS will just say “it’s out for delivery” like they’re just using the same app you are. No info on where it’s been scanned or at what time.

@BABMusic you have me misunderstood brother I agree with the kid in the video.. 😂 That’s how I feel every Bi-week & half year when property taxes are due lol It’s also how I feel every time I buy something used or sell something. I was agreeing with you 🤦🏻‍♂️ I mentioned knowing a few friends who quit selling through the brokers because of the 1099-K at the end of the year. As far as unrealized gains.. I’ve been heavily invested in the market for the past 15 years.. I’m one of the last cats you would meet that wants to see taxes on unrealized gains. 😉👍🏽

another note,

If you sell on the site, they will provide shipping labels via FedEx. That’s less expensive than my FedEx business account.

They have a third-party insurance carrier that cuts the price significantly for the seller

They are the gorilla in the room and they obviously want to take over a chunk of reverb’s business
Seems like a win/win positive move then ?????

Except when you sell something, you have one of three things: a realized gain, a realized loss or break even. You are only taxed on realized gains. This was always the case…. So nothing new except no one reported gains and paid taxes because there was no way for the IRS got know about them as they didn’t have an enforcement mechanism. The 1099-k now allows for such enforcement.

If you have a gain, the it’s money you never paid taxes on, so there is no double taxation to you.
