and even though I can't tell what Mesa amp he's using in the background, I must get another Stiletto since I know he uses/d those, and I've gotta get an Ibanez with his single coils. Also, I must practice more lol

It wasn't a studio version of the song, just him kinda jamming in the room over the backing track. Here's the video:

he's a long time Mesa Lonestar head user AFAIK

Cowboy chords and generic single coil tones through a clean/edge of break up amp......

I understand now.

He uses a lone star clean channel usually and adds pedals for gain.

I know I mentioned it years ago but when I met up with Robert Keeley at a guitar store in my area, Andy was demoing his pedal and had those Mesa combos set up. Just hearing him in person is mind blowing because he hits these notes and has a subtlety to his playing that is awesome to watch and hear.

iMO hearing a handful of great cover bands and cover band players brings as much or more inspiration than listening to Andy Timmons and other D-Listers but hey thats me :dunno:

Cover bands? 😫

I don't know man, the older I get and the more I remember being in cover bands, it is much more inspiring doing original music.

This dude's unhinged rant a day or two ago is about to get him a block.

I was working one day and let my music stream run and it played a bunch of Andy Timmons, whereas I really never listened to him much before. The songs I dig that come to mind:

Carpe Diem - like a more killer Summer Song
Super 70s
Falling Down
Cry for You
Groove or Die

Ear xtacy - great album.

We used to have the same hair guy in the 90s. The guy would play Andys stuff in the salon all the time

Sounds nice. It’s cool seeing guys using “unconventional” gear combos ill call it and sounding good.

You know what's not a bombastic off base opinion? Dubbel kreems rule...that's a stone cold fact.
Damn right. I know you think I'm just being a dick when I say Toy Robot lead tones but I 100% love that sound coming from the bridge of a sweet LP.
