i love the tone on this song. i’ve seen on some forums that neil avron the producer apparently quad tracks guitars but i asked AI and it says there’s no confirmation of this. can anyone here tell?

what part of the song are we talking?? The beginning, maybe not. The chorus, most likely. Some parts could be quad tracked but the doubled track is much lower so you barely can tell in a mix, others might me L/C/R. Most big name producers and mixers i think are gonna want more guitar tracks than necessary just to have.

not necessarily, but the way i do it usually is lay down a balanced fat and clear lower gain tone for a base, then the 3rd and 4th ill do with more gain, scoop the mids and add highs, or whatever i think the tone needs, and i usually have to lower them in the mix a bit to blend right with the fat tone, and maybe pan differently. Theres no real right or wrong though, theres a million different variables and a million different ways to get things done around those variables, you really just gotta experiment. Id always start with four tracks though

Bands like Falujah quad tracked guitars on The Flesh Prevails and it does sound sweet.

But I think in most mixes dual is fine. Especially if you're mixing multiple mics/speakers per take.

PS I suck at mixing and production so take my opinion lightly.
