So when we listen to your clips on U tube , are you coming out of output2 to your Sla2 .Or do you turn on off cabs and go out to putput 1 at home ? Also I did download your patches and they sound good . in your layout I notice you have a mixer and that one fader is all the way down . Is this so you can add a volume pedal etc..? I had to delete the mixer block and reconnect so I could hear them etc.. I still trying to get my head wrapped around this .

Thx, Chris

I wanna believe I can plug:

gtr-->pedals-->axe-->send to eggie head

eggie SLAVE out to axe return
eggie speaker out to hotplate/dry cab

axe stereo out to powered cabs ( I have a tech 21 power engine coming and will find something for the other side)

I'd love to integrate the timeline in there as well, and will experiment with the valvulator and a presonus tube pre for some extra tube love.

not gonna have time till this weekend to dig in to axe...the Hermida dual boost killed with the brown patch, I imagine the tone press will bring the cleans to life, and the eggie in the mix just seems like it will punch face.

Spdif out to gforce????
Sound possible!

Mark's videos make me want to get a Axe-FX every time I see them.

That's the next buy after my new Fibes drum kit. Then mics and studio gear :thumbsup:

Yes coming out of OUT 2 to the SLA2 and to a 2x12" Randall with Celestion70/80's. Yes the mixer ch 2 fader is connected to a volume pedal (midi CC7).

Some earlier vids I am using an Edirol R09-HR to record audio. Later vids I use the R09-HR, OUT1 direct to ProTools and a sm57 in front of the cab...then I mix all sources together in PT's.

those are the cabs I used at tone merchants

I can't comment on how they sound because frankly I really wasn't familiar with the axe enough to know what the cab was doing to affect the sound

it was lightweight and the sound was solid

I could see getting one to complete the stereo rig with the tech 21 if time proves them to be great.

Spdif to G-force if the G-force accepts slave at 48k...no problem. Will be a duplicate of Output1.

For the other set up...
gtr->pedals->Axe input 1 front->Axe Out 2->Eggie input->Eggie slave->Axe In 2->Axe Out 1 powered tech 21 cabs.

Now you will have to run an FX Loop block inside the Axe-Fx. You'd place that ater the Axe-Fx internal pedal sims, beforebefore delay/vverb and cab sims.
This way you have your dry amp sound through the Hot plate/gtr cab with your pedals in front, and the Axe-Fx pedal sims after yor pedals going into the head.
Then in the Axe you have sauce on the head and the cab sims.
Make this interesting by running anoter amp sim or 2 in parallel with your Eggie. Or better yet make them switchable, or really cool us an expression pedal that pans between a clean sim, a crunch sim and the Eggie for gain. Attach controllers to the fx so that pedal back on clean sim you have verb delay, chorus, etc...then pedal half way you go to the crunch sim with verb and no delay, and for gain pedal all the way forward you add a volume boost, and delay and pitch.
All done with single expression pedal...
I have something like that up on my youtube...

sweet

did you like any of the axe pedal sims better than real pedals?

Have you found any fender amp sims in the axe to be as responsive as a real fender?

I think the gforce is 44.

If the G-force is 44 you won't be able to do it since the clocks won't sync.
Pedals...I got a wah set up I really dig but the feel of the expression pedal sucks, that said until I got the Voodoolab Wahzoo that was my fave wah, weird pedal travel and all...
Stomps...the ODs in there I like as much as the pedal they model, except the ODs I use aren't in there. But when I'm lazy I'm good with the TS models
Totally dig the octave fuzz though.
I dig the vibe and phaser, dig the chorus, trem.

Fender? You mean for clean stuff? Can't answer that since I use a Hiwatt or SVT model for that and change the tone stack.

:inlove: that's what I want....

Eventually I will have another axe...I made the mistake of selling off gear to purchase the ultra that i had and never had the time to really sit down with it and get to know the ins and outs. Hopefully next time I can buy a setup like that outright without selling anything...might take 2 years at this rate though. :lol: :LOL:
