I wonder if those schmoo's can wrap their head around the idea that a lot of great guitar players out there could give 2 shits about trying to sound like Robben Ford.
A lot of great guitars out there don't need 20,000 amp simulations either.
c'mon Carl, you know you've got one at home too.
I'm not distracted by the 40 + amp sims in the box - but absolutely have taken advantage of the 4 -6 drive and clean patches that work perfect for me. I don't have the room anymore to keep that many amps around and this solves some major problems.

Thats actually a pretty good idea as its a tube buffered effects loop to be run in a non buffered situation....my Aiken really would benefit from that if I was going to use the Axe in its loop full time. The Axe works better as a stand alone unit I'm finding - either powered by the VHT or into its own monitor

Bro, its all about Robben Ford and the tone he gets in those first "Politician" chords. You know, the ones that sound sort of like a wet splattery fart? Thats the Grail![]()

The parameters and capabilities are so deep you really have to dig into them to understand. I have a ton of clips that I recorded just from the presets, but last night I finally got a chance to start tweaking my own patch. I don't have my MIDI hook up yet, so I am using Ver. 7.09 all stock IR's.
I am very happy with the way this is going. I tweaked this patch for about an hour and was going for the volume controllable Marshall gain. The only differences in these tones is in the pickup selector, guitar volume knob and pick attack.
The playing is sloppy and aimless as usual, but I wasn't trying to write a song here. I'm just playing with the dynamics for now.
What do you think?

BRAVO!!! that is too cool, that path needs to be shared!!!Zer0th":10wuneqv said:Speaking of insanity it's gone all violin-mad over there. I thought '3 Chord Rock' was bullshitting until I saw the vid.
Mitch has done a lovely little piece 'ere...
It will be interesting to see how far this can be taken using the harmonizer/arpeggiator etc. String quartets and neo-classical craziness.
