Very interesting read.
I honestly believe that men are more emotional, feeling people than women. I know that's the opposite of the stereotype, but I think a lot of what women "feel" I would consider petty. Personally, I find myself diving deep into questions on how to live my life, the point of wealth, and flat out how to be happy during my time here. I feel like women are slightly more concerned with day-to-day matters than men, and that men - the majority of philosophers, musicians, and comedians - are more interested in questions that will still apply in 5, 10, 50 years. This is a sweeping generalization and could be wrong though. The fact is: I'm 20 years old alive I've been alive for a pretty short time, but this is what I've come to see.
Tying back to the OP, I feel like people - in your case, women - become a bit too comfortable for their own good today. I think people need to be kept in check with reality, and if 90% of the people you come into contact with desperately want to blow your head off, a gun waved in your face to remind you that you're nothing special might not be a bad idea. Then again, that way of thinking could be a side-effect of DC rush hour traffic.
