Yeah forget the guitar player,
The drummer??
Umm..I could feel his strike & rolls
through the cellphone speaker…
He ran that pocket and bad to bone beats just relentless jazz…he bottled it up and spilt the improvisation all amongst that room.
I had to punch in just to inform whoever posted this.
I bet my right nut that Billy Duffy would be blown away by that guy…

Word up on the level.

Great rock band & guitarist- he never overplays or underplays.

Can always hear The Cult no matter the mood. Great band. Great tunes. Slick licks. She sells Sanctuary is probably one of my favorite top 10 songs of all time. Definitely an early and mid 80s vibe which is where I live.

He’s one of my favorite rock lead players. Can rip when he wants to, knows how to use a wah, always a great tone.

The dudes a rawk machine amazing just the right amount of everthing live act !

Attitude, tone and groove for days and days...And a very cool guy as well.

Always a fan.

I heard Electric first, then Sonic Temple and liked them right away. There was a kind of neoclassical/glam/Eurometal fatigue in the late '80s, and more basic retro rock was a thing, which inspired Electric. But the production of Sonic Temple was aimed in the arena epic direction and truly perfected the Big '80s Les Paul sound. Then I discovered Love and finally Dreamtime, which were actually "alternative" music, unlike the MTV crap which soon became the establishment on MTV in the '90s (an "alternative" to NOTHING).

I though Ceremony was unfairly overlooked, and The Cult (1994) didn't gain much traction either, but there were some great songs there. The Cult reinvented themselves more than almost anyone, but the core is always there.

Ceremony is a great album

I have always loved the uncomplicated rhythmic grooves that Billy writes. I've seen Duffy multiple times over the past 30 years and he never misses a beat. The most recent was in 2022 in San Antonio and he crushed it.

I was watching some YouTube videos with him doing some soundchecks and noodling.. His tone is phenomenal. It was recently, and I think he was plugged into an older Friedman BE?

No..no.no and no.
Back in the day?
Oh yeah, Rain, Nirvana..
‘Love Removal Machine- I heard
Keef’ Richards was not psyched about this riff,
It started him up…. and Keef’ buried a freshly lit Marlboro Red cigarette
into Billy’s Margarita bowl
at the MTV Video Music Awards..
Good for you Keefer’ -Dead rip off man.
Here’s the f’n 411:
Go f’n listen to that guys leads, particularly many of his phrases & ending phrases.
Just jibberish crap.

HEAVY on the drums production as always giving The Cult a very danceable/club beat kinda flavor of the vibes..
I know, I know the She Sells Santuary riff..
Wildflower..
Aphrodisiac Jacket..
-Peace was a dirty word??
Open-F-sharp-Open-B power chord ..
Kurdt’ did that one way better with
“You Know You’re Right”
Ian Astbury took a wrong turn and kept on going man…he was cool doin’
Jim Morrison with a British accent tho’👍

I hope you dudes have been playing your amps instead of talking about them,
-looks to be the case..LTFOL dudes!!
Where you been

THE CULT is one of my favorites!

Billy is awesome!!!

Ceremony is a great album

I think he got his ultimate Big Les Paul sound on that album. It was very similar to Sonic Temple, but Ceremony had less arena reverb overall. Dumb people called them "Hair Metal" at that time, but that was never what they were. They grabbed a piece of that era and made it theirs.

Huge fan!

I'm assembling this guitar in his honor:
