That was supposed to be Doug Aldridge's Signature amp...

Yep. And, Gary Moore did have his hands on it after that fell through, as did Paul Stanley, Jimmy Page, Vivian Campbell, and Scott Gorham.

I'm not sure what happened with Aldrich. It seems that he's the one that backed out, and I'm sure it had something to do with Marshall. If Aldrich had a hand in it, it's got to sound killer!

I think Suhr made him the SE100 so he backed out...
Anyway...post some clips pls...!!!!!

Waiting to hear the verdict. Made me want to try a Fireball and the Retro, some said the Blackmoore was the one to have out of the artist. Damn all these amps!!

I had a Retro, and Fireball. I actually dug the Retro more. I actually sold the Retro to buy a Helios. The Helios was a great amp, but I shoulda kept the Retro. I actually looked for one of those as well. HARD to find.

The Retro is a badass amp. Super pissed off hot rodded Marshall tones. The "Retro" makes it sound like an old fart's tube amp, but it has plenty of gain. Very aggressive. Very open, and raw. Lots of personality. I'm pretty confident the Artist will be in that neighborhood, but meatier.

That's Awesome man. Let us know how you like it. I think me and you have pretty similar tastes when it comes to high gain. That and the blackmore are the only Engl amps I could really get into.

Yeah, I like EL34's, Marshall voicing with a bit of attitude and aggression, and big thump. Anxious to see how it pairs with my Greenback loaded 4x12.

Would you please make a video? i'd be interested in hearing that thump.

Damn , now I'm definitely waiting for the smoke test results. Why the hell I didnt grab a retro when they were trending, as u mentioned dont see many of em any more. Amp seemed like it had the gain greed and more. Now I'm lookin. Compared to the Splawn is it tighter/chewier more or less open sounding?

It's less stuffy, more aggressive. Lots of growl.
Definitely tight!

Paid for it Monday, still no tracking..?
WTH...? Reverb?

Yep. I try to give some slack, since most places are understaffed. It's an actual store, not an individual. But, the 72hrs. Reverb allows is now here. I want the damn amp, I don't want a refund.

Yep, that was straight up fantastic sounding. If napalm can ever get his amp we'll get his first hand experience as the Artist is on my short list as well.

Damn, this is crazy. Stores are closed yet selling gear and cant ship out in 4 days. I feel ya Napalm, nothing like waiting to wait. Hope that beast ships today!!

The Retro is one of the few amps I truely miss, it is pretty similar to the Artist with a much better clean channel and options on the clean channel. The large footswitch is a must so you can access all the boost option for both channels. The Artist is such an underated amp congrats and enjoy! I wish they would work on their overall pricing, they could sell so many more amps. There aint that much going on inside was surprised how sparce the insides were on the Retro..

It fucking better.. I'll be calling Reverb and raising hell. I think 72hrs. to ship is too lenient anyway. There's no reason 48 shouldn't be the norm.

I understand what's going on in the world has things slowed down. Don't have Sales, or push your merchandise, if you can't ship timely. Period.

Hope it has shipped. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. I've been really interested in the EL34 Special Edition and Savage Mk2. Get that Dying Fetus and Necrophagist tone.

Not yet.. Now the seller is MIA. Sent him a message this AM, no response, yet..

I bought some gear from Sweetwater, they dragged their feet until I called and bitched after 4 days. Miraculously, it went out later that day ! Good luck OP.

That's what happened today. I had to get redneck, with them, and had tracking within the hour. And to my surprise, FedEx is delivering 7 days a week now, and I'll have it Sunday!

Just like the Jimmy Dean complaint guy..
