He's actually got another listing.....we should all bomb his inbox with requests for pics at weird angles.

The problem could be solved if there would be an auto lock on threads after a certain period of time. Lock threads that are 1+ years old, and we wouldn't have this problem. If something is so important that you want to add an addendum to a thread, just start a new one and add a link to the old one for reference or something. That way, new discussion can be brought into an older thread without having to necrobump everything.

I'm not sure that really solves the problem because then the pinheads would just bump newer threads.

Hate to say it but if the classifieds are supposed to be reserved to those who participate on the forum, then the number of posts required should be raised into the 100's so that it's too much of a pain to just bump threads in an afternoon. Somewhere around 500 seems about right to me.

Dude, I totally agree....I see the wisdom of doing a required post count before being able to sell something here, but if the last two weeks have taught us anything, 50 doesn't do jack shit...and how many of the guys that just join to sell stuff actually stick around? If it's supposed to be for our safety with regards to knowing who someone is by means of how long they've been around and how much they participate, then 500 shouldn't be a huge deal. Either you're here to participate AND sell your stuff, or you're just trying to cut eBay costs. After all the necrobumps, I say screw the FNGs.

And if someone dares to come on here and necro 500 posts, they get the ban hammer. Permanently. :banhim:

I dont see what the problem is...

If you've read it before either dont go into the thread or use the back button on your browser. No big deal

Seems like if you're are not one of the "main" dozen or so members you either get shunned or abused.

Sometimes i think this forum is full of elitist sycophants.

The whole "come inside" thing always gives me the wrong idea.

Clearly you're a better, calmer, more respectful person than most.

Sorry, that makes no sense.

I don't know if you remember every title of the 10000 threads you've ever read and the dates that they were first posted... there are no dates on the main page but the last posted date so how would you know if they were old threads?

If you've read the thread before, there's more than likely something in the title that drew you to it and you want to check it out. When you find out it's a thread from three years ago, it's really fuckin annoying not only because you've read it before and usually realize it halfway through, but also because all the current relevant threads get pushed down and onto the next pages, forcing you to search for the ones you currently remember and are interested in.

It'd be different if you bumped an old thread once in a while to see where people are at now compared to when they first posted, but to bump 50 old threads to the front page in less than 12 hours to hock your gear with nothing to contribute but 'lol' or some other stupid comment, you should be banned and/or shot.

I can't believe I had to explain that :aww:
