Buying a Wizard MCII...which transformer?

Cool... I'll post one of the A transformer, its real close but there is some difference.

Want a Wizard badly play some VH riffs, never see this in any Wizard clips seriously....!

I need my amps to be able to pull off ACDC and VH very well, anything else is just icing on the cake! Well Led Zep would be good as well

Alright my gas has temporarily subsided for the wizard. Just A/B'd my Suhr PT100SE and a very newly acquired Mouradian 100 1972 Super Lead Replica run through the Fryette Powerstation at louder than most gig volumes and the tone is almost spot on with the Super Lead. Gotta turn the suhr up loud though as its no bedroom amp. I'm gonna dump both my Metropoulos 12,000 and MetroFriedman 100 Watt Plexi in the classifieds soon. They were fun while I had them but I prefer the metal panel tone and feel...not so soft and spongy.
With boating and Fishing season now here my gas is easing and if any of the previous 4 years since I joined this site have proven my gas will be back in October or maybe a little sooner

Ok its done...told Rick to put the C tranny in this...MCII 100 watter with a 2X12 65 G12M Creambacks Texan style

that's killer! congrats! I have an amp with him right now getting an effects loop installed and should see it soon. What type of turn around time is giving you?

He gave me 4 to 6 weeks

Hi Chris,

The "V" is somewhat smoother all around than the "C" but the "C" is my "go to" transformer otherwise.

The "V" is designed to have a wider "Q" in the midrange while the "C" is more focused on linearity.

You can't go wrong with either choice ... I have never had any complaints on either one.

As a matter of fact a substantial amount of people have purchased a second 100w just to have both transformer options on hand.

I just got an email from Rick that my amps shipping out to me next week and another person on the board got their amp the other day so things are moving in Wizard land.
