The idea that anyone would consider buying anything from Mark Scamron is totally mind blowing. And the ones around here that stand of for him are pieces of shit in my book.

And just like that, ladies and gentleman here we have a cameron thread !

Yeah I can’t support the guy. He’s never apologized or bothered to ever make mends for his dirty past. Before Chris, Brad, and the failed CCV revival, there were the customer’s Marshalls robbed of mod money with no amplifier ever returned. I’ve even read stories he sold customers’ amps to make money without their knowledge. I remember at some point a storage of amplifiers was found and he didn’t bother to tag anything as to who owned what amplifier and why it was even there. It was a complete and total mess. Before that, he got fired from working with Bogner for getting caught red handed stealing transformer specifications.

His river runs deep and he keeps a tight click with people who will ignore his past and shit that he’s done to others just so they can get their own piece of the Cameron pie.

I personally would rather not have a Cameron anything with his name attached to it regardless of how it sounds. And what’s sad, is that he did this to himself. A little bit of compassion for others goes a long way, but when you screw cheat or lie your way to the top, is it really the top? Hard, hard pass.

+1

Here is a super quick cell phone clip I just made of the amp

And here is a cool pedal I just made which im calling " Little Richie"

It's basically a 4 gain stage plate driven eq gain channel, and a fenderish clean channel configuration.. It is an all tube pedal made for going direct with an IR box or into the fx return of an amp or power amp. This clip is going through a mooer radar cab loader and my studio monitors.

I think i may have made it a little to dark with the Low pass filter on the cab eq settings for this clip , but you get the idea! I can make more clips

Here are some photos of the pedal and setup -

the whole saga has been really fascinating to watch over the years from all angles. it really should be some kind of human behavior study. as crazy as it seems id bet if there was a sign up list today for $3k to save your spot there would be a dozen guys who just couldnt help themselves

Oh for sure. It's like I said above, there are guys who are younger who really don't know everything that went down back then. And sadly, wouldn't care about the fact that there are still guys out there who never got their money/amps back and have given up hope. I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable giving Mark a dime knowing how many people out there lost their ass from his BS.

Totally. It’s a study in some very very weird human behavior. His amps don’t even sound that great. I guess if you like an over compressed Marshall made to sound like a Boogie to cover up your sloppy ass playing while you pretend you’re back in the 80’s but in reality you are on your one of 30 Charvel’s in Dad shorts with a boner looking at your unobtainium Scameron amps.... then maybe it’s for you.

The coupling cap arrangement / voltage dividers are there, Jose master with similar clipping threshold, are there any other amps that offer that arrangement aside from the subtleties? I have mutual friends and know dude agrees. Hopefully he will offer these again and get with the right people, he’s a great artist and I don’t want to recommend ballpark clones.
Thank you for the input, i was not really wanting a clone but i wanted a real hand wired MARK amp. If you listen to the yt vids of him playing his amp at the amp shows( this was before the production line that he did) the amp crushes. It almost sounds like a cross between a modded marshall and a bogner uberschall? such a strong mid section. if that makes sense.I have wanted one for a long time, what's weird to me is that no amp designer is doing his style mods?
there are people doing his mods. That circuit is very sensitive to everything in the chain, including the player. If you get one and plug it into any old cab and guitar, it’s not going to sound like the NAMM video. Listen to clips from psycho Dave and Halebox. They can get that grind out of various amps. Also, in the NAMM videos, marks pretty much got the mods and treble cranked. Many people judge an amp by how it sounds with the controls in the middle.

I’ve owned a shit ton of JMP and JCM 800s. I’ve never heard one sound like Dave can make one sound

Haha. That amp is bone stock. Its the first JMP/JCM800 amp that I’ve kept. I think it’s because it has 6550’s and not EL34’s. With the Cameron V2 hot mod thing, it’s an absolute beast.

Regarding the thread topic and what people forget to realize is that Cameron amps all have a forgiving feel to them. They are super easy to play. There are lots of amps out there that sound great, but they feel like shit. First amp that comes to mind for me is the PT100/ Bradshaw design. They sound great, but just are missing that easy feel under the fingers. I don’t like to fight an amp while playing.

It's basically a 4 gain stage Aldrich gain channel, and a fenderish clean channel configuration borrowed from the Cameron Modern Twin amp i had.. It is an all tube pedal made for going direct with an IR box or into the fx return of an amp or power amp. This clip is going through a mooer radar cab loader and my studio monitors.

If Mark were to make a come back and start selling amps again and fully follow through on all orders , he could easily make anyone he owed money to in the past whole. It would take a monumental effort on his part and I for one would love to see it happen and would root for the guy to make amends. I would love to own a CCV hand built by him. He should embrace the fact Jason is in his corner and get busy rebuilding his reputation.

Think he can pay Chris Schmidt back for all the namm shows, years of rent money, and the entire inventory of headshells, chassis, parts, and so on that he sold out from under him ? Ha ! It goes deep guys! That would take ALOT of amps to recoup that alone... not to mention all those Deposits and payments he took for CCV's , CCM , and mods and amps that were never delivered, and remember this is FACT. Just remember who you would be supporting.
Just out of curiosity, does ANYONE know the specs of what was to be the CCM ? How was it different than the CCV ?

In the words of the terminator... "I have detailed files" but it isn't my place to share someone's intellectual property, even if they have ripped me off so please do not ask.

That wouldn't make me much better.

Chris Schmidt lent me his Ccm and i
I Took photos and drew it out when I had it. It had the same transformers, voltages , filtering , and circuit boards as the ccv.

Ccm is 4 gain stages like the aldrich, no clipping diodes, little different clean setup as well. The switches are setup different as well and have different functions

I have a dead nuts copy and its my main amp!

This is just cruel       Would love to roll myself a CCM, guess the closest I'll get is to tweak the Modern mod until I like it.

Clips you posted later in the thread sound killer

If you can play as well as Mark I’d love to hear it.
