Here is a super quick cell phone clip I just made of the amp

Post some clips

And here is a cool pedal I just made which im calling " Little Richie"

It's basically a 4 gain stage plate driven eq gain channel, and a fenderish clean channel configuration.. It is an all tube pedal made for going direct with an IR box or into the fx return of an amp or power amp. This clip is going through a mooer radar cab loader and my studio monitors.

I think i may have made it a little to dark with the Low pass filter on the cab eq settings for this clip , but you get the idea! I can make more clips

Here are some photos of the pedal and setup -

That pedal sounds great! Let's talk about that instead of the usual back and forth my V2A is bigger and tighter than yours shit that go along with any thread that has Cameron's name in it. Love the idea of a tube driven pedal that can feed a power amp or power amp/cab sim.

Thanks ! It was not an easy one to pull off actually. There is alot crammed into a very small space. But after some trial and error got it to where I like it.

It is basically an aldrich gain channel and a fenderish clean ... ill make better clips .... it kinda sounds flat in the previous clip ...

Nick you should consider building and selling those. Sounds amazing.

Agree completely - that pedal sounds incredible.

So funny i'm glad everyone likes it because it really was a pain in the ass to make

I basically have had this idea for a while and there are a handful of other companies ( like kingsley and so on) that have recently inspired me to make one of these up for myself. I have tried all of the big modelers out there, I really gave valient effort and money to try to make it right but It just was never right.

It was always a compromise with something and honestly the biggest thing to me is that I spent to much time tweaking shit and not enough time playing and making music! It just gets in the way!

That is why I wanted to build a small foot print preamp pedal with real tubes that run at real high voltages, point to point like a real amp , that is simple and responds and feels like a real amp!

The thing is this was HIGHLY labor intensive to make. It took me literally 30 + bench hours to complete. If I ever even considered making something like this I would def have to get the chassis pre made and pre drilled, pre populated pcb boards, along with ribbon and or molex connectors , along with several other things to expedite the labor time. My worry is that It could very well change the way it sounds, but it would probably be the only way to make the cost reasonable, otherwise it doesn't make sense, no one will want to buy a potential $800 dollar preamp pedal.

What if you already had a dead H&K Replex to start with?

The layout would be really different. Anything is possible, but I would have to start over again basically.

Gotcha, I've killed it twice by running a 12AU7 (and then leaving it on for days/weeks) and the PS died. I've kept the shell just for something like this some day...lol...some day.

If you can keep the cost reasonable ( I'm in Canada after all and exchange rate is brutal), I'd be in!

I was thinking about features as well,

Dedicated high headroom clean with full eq and master vol
Dedicated gain channel with full eq and master vol
Either a gain boost or voicing / volume boost for leads on the gain channel.

In addition maybe a control jack that allows fx units to switch the preamp remotely/ channels and features...

What other features would people want in this form factor? I feel like the above would satisfy all my wants really..

maybe a voicing feature so you could run it into the front a clean amp without a fx return ?

True bypass ?

Maybe a switch that goes between 3 and 4 gain stages to havr some versatility ?

I think I would also want some sort of gain boost/volume boost for the clean. It seems no matter how good I think my clean tone is...if I have a Klon set 'clean-ish' I'm prob gonna step on it. But maybe I'd just use the Klon (or a compressor) anyway.

Or maybe a switchable insert loop type of thing where you could for example have an outboard compressor that is only in the signal chain when you select the clean and bypassed when dirty.

Hold my beer!

Here in Brazil is 110% taxes over the product prices and shipping cost.
