Metallica's Kill 'Em All. There may have been better tones later in the 80s (including metallica), but the guitar sound on that album was pretty raw and brutal for the time.

John Christ did have some great guitar tones on Danzig's stuff. Plus with Rick Rubin producing how could it sound bad. Great choice man.


For me I'm going to have to say Earl Slick's guitar sound on Phantom Rocker and Slick. Men Without Shame is just loaded with guitar tone. Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson produced..
