Are those scratches on your guitar or cracks in the paint? Nice looking guitar.I've known Curt for years on the forum and bought a Charvel from him back when he was selling guitars and prior to making them. He is one of us, a Rig Talker, and it is great being able to support one of our own and a small business.
My Demartini Charvel retails for $5000. I got a Chubtone made to my specs, from scratch for about $1900 shipped to my door. Can't beat that!!
One thing, let them take their time with the buokd and get you a great quality instrument. They are a small business with a lot of customers but you won't be disappointed!!

That is the paint job I had them do for a "relic" look. Originally we were going to do relic'd parts like the bridge, knobs, etc. but just did the look on the paintAre those scratches on your guitar or cracks in the paint? Nice looking guitar.
I didn't want the guitar to look too "clean" so to speak. I wanted into have some character and look like an old rustic flag a bitAre those scratches on your guitar or cracks in the paint? Nice looking guitar.
I have a couple. They're VERY nice guitars, but I don't play as much as I used to though, and might part with them... Lots of $$$ tied up in rack decorations...

Not sure if this should be a PM between us (feel free to respond that way) but what do you think of Aviator compared to Mayones? I have a friend that has one but I've never played his, I know he said for him the neck is just too thin (and this friend and I agree on what we like in necks completely).I just ordered my first guitar from them . Very thorough in the build questions. They make sure you agree to everything before getting the deposit like cost and wait times so I appreciate that. I have a custom Mayones and aviator. If this one turns out anywhere near as good as everyone says I may have found my go to company.
I have had many Suhr custom builds and I feel like my Chubtone stands up to them all. I think maybe the Gotoh Floyd is nicer than the Floyd I have on my Chubtone but as far as neck profiles and quality it is pretty dang close. Soundwise, any guitar is going to be different (especially when you factor in pickups and tone woods neck etc). For the money? No question go with the Chubtone. So how does Chubtone compare to say Suhr?
Also, if I wanted a super strat with an 8.5 radius, 24.5 scale length fret board.. they could do that?
I love the Aviator but yeah its a thin neck. Not quite ibanez wizard thin but it's not far. My Regius is almost like a 50's les paul neck. It's a bit thick but honestly the regius is a heavy solid guitar which I like. Not sure if this should be a PM between us (feel free to respond that way) but what do you think of Aviator compared to Mayones? They do offer flame and quilted tops I think it's an extra 300.I have had many Suhr custom builds and I feel like my Chubtone stands up to them all. I have not seen a ton of Chubtones with the quilted maple tops etc or stuff like that but I am sure he offers that. Suhr seems to have that aspect down pretty tight.
He'll send you a sheet to fill out. Breaks down woods, neck type, hardware, etc, etc. You literally piece together whatever you want and spend what you are feeling.Wow just appreciate the great feedback. Looks like my mind is made up, when you get reviews and support like for a brand you feel strong going into it. Cheers!
You are getting a handmade guitar, at your exact specs, for cheaper (sometimes thousands cheaper) than much more plentiful brands. My German Chubtone is a one of a kind and if I would have gotten a Friedman for instance, would have been $3500 or more. Mine was $1900What makes Chubtone so good?
I was impressed at the amount of options they give you that other more expensive companies don't give you. I honestly never thought of which radius or nut width to go with. I honestly didn't know what to go with here. You are getting a handmade guitar, at your exact specs, for cheaper (sometimes thousands cheaper) than much more plentiful brands.
