Hey everyone, I’ve been on the hunt for a new guitar and have spent quite a bit of time on the Chubtone site. I’ve Googled and looked through the internet. Seems like a solid instrument from all the feedback I’ve read. But wanted to throw it out to everyone here to provide any of your experiences from the build to when you got it in your hands and start jamming on it. I really appreciate any feedback.

I just ordered my first guitar from them . Very thorough in the build questions. They make sure you agree to everything before getting the deposit like cost and wait times so I appreciate that. I have a custom Mayones and aviator. If this one turns out anywhere near as good as everyone says I may have found my go to company.

If my Warmoth parts guitar doesn't turn out to my satisfaction, Chubtone will be my first choice. I've never read a bad thing about them.

Same here… was looking at some other custom builders that may do an overall better job like Luxxtone but it comes with a hefty price tag.. Chubtone is close and much better value ?

for sure… I was seriously looking at Luxxtone but had a real hard time with the price tag, and for that matter same with Charvel. Paying in the ballpark of $4k is just to much… Chubtone‘a value is excellent and long as the guitar delivers.

I just got one after a long wait and it is very nice and high quality. To me, it almost feels more like my old Suhr guitars than a Charvel. I own several Luxxtones and love them too. I would definitely order a Chubtone again. You will not be dissappointed

I appreciate the vote of confidence, your comment along with everyone else is getting me closer to pulling the trigger!

From experience, Chubtone is always of high quality. Never heard anyone have had a problem with the Chubtone guitar before.

Luxxtone, although more expensive, is worth it

Chubtone, a bit cheaper, is no less stellar and also totally worth it.

You cannot go wrong with either.

Curt knows more about Charvels than the original guys that worked at the old shop. Seriously. Easily the best super strat I own.

I have a couple. They're VERY nice guitars, but I don't play as much as I used to though, and might part with them... Lots of $$$ tied up in rack decorations...

Incredible quality and value for the money, great neck, high quality control, can't be beat for the price IMHO.

What makes Chubtone so good?
What paulyc said pretty much sums it up.

If I recall, Curt saw that 'good/great' Charvels were getting harder and harder to come by and getting way expensive and decided to do something about it. Part of the model was to be as reasonably priced as possible. They're an insane value imo and that doesn't mean they aren't every bit as good as some more expensive builders. It just means they cost less.
