I remember selling something once a few years back. Just from the guys replies and the time in between answering etc...
Had a gut feeling I knew it was not going to be good. But he got persistent and said he will send me the money. After about 3 weeks of asking me to hold it for various reasons. At the end of the 3rd week I had enough. Told him if you dont send the money I am going to sell it to the next guy. No reply for one day. I sold it to the next 'dibs' guy.
Same day assclown number one sends me the money paypal with no notice. Money just showed up. I just refused it and sent it back to him. It was over a grand I remember too. He then hassled me for a day or 2 saying I screwed him over.
Cant remember his account name but he hasnt been here in years.

As a seller, when someone asks "will you take XXX", or they have a question that can be answered to their satisfaction I feel like responding with "If I say yes are you going to buy it?" I hate to think like that but sometimes people won't respond even after I address their concerns. Recently had a guy hung up on the fact that a fine tuner screw had a scrape on it, he says, if it weren't for that... So I say no problem, if that's all that's holding you back I'll replace it for you with a perfect one that I have lying around. No response of course.

Jesus christ...
I have bought NEW items in stores with more wrong then that!
Guess that scratch on the fine tuner would of shifted the tone making the guitar unplayable.
People are buying used for a reason....to save money from buying new. Well at least that is my reason. If there is some minor blemish then that is what your buying.
What happens when they get a scratch on a tuning peg or the bridge....do they constantly replace the items??

I often hold doors open and dont even get a thank you from some of those low class shit heads. When that happens, I call them out in public.

Same here. I usually give them a nice, loud "Your welcome!"

I will only deal with reputable guys on the forums for these reasons the op brought up. Usually these rude assholes are the ones you see bumping the shit out of their for sale threads and bitching how nothing is selling.

If i post something for a certain price, and all i get are people offering $100 less, i have every right to ignore it..
If that bothers you, come at me when you have enough money :)

that is no less dickish that people getting "irritated" with you asking if they just saw your item sell on ebay.

I always respond, but I am sick of people that ask a million questions or for additional pics or something and when they get them don't bother to respond. Not a "thank you," "not interested, " or offer. No response. It goes both ways.

Jim, if everyone is offering you $100 less than you want for the item perhaps you priced it too high?

I see it going both ways, some guys put a stupid high price on something hoping for a sucker and other people want to buy a 1957 Les Paul for $52.00. It's part of the game.

You may have every right to ignore it, but it still shows a lack of manners/common courtesy.
