I require clean
Ideally, I like crystal clean, gritty clean, 70s crunch, hi gain brootz, and hi gain syrup for leads to deliver the song ideas in my head.
But since I have that covered with a Kemper & DMoll, so I guess my next amps don't need clean if I am just jamming it at home.
+1 Except the Peters Halo clean does it for me. I set it up for a very light edge of breakup and roll my guitar's volume knob down to around 3 for crystal cleans, and use a combination of riding the volume knob and kicking in boost pedals for various shades of grit and drive. It's also loads of fun messing around with modulation effects on a nice clean channel. Can't do without it.
I would love to try a Halo. I had a single channel amp from Peters that must have been an early model. That thing had an AWESOME clean. Really want another Peters at some point.
I do always look for a really clean channel next to a brootz channel, but since all my humbucker-equipped guitars have coilsplit options, I can get by with a dirty clean/mild crunch too.
