Hey guys

My 5150 III is only a few weeks old and I have it covered pretty much all the time and haven't really gigged with it. I brought it to a gig last night and noticed these black marks on the top of the head. I'm not sure what they are, looks like smudges but I never place anything on top of it at home. Something must have been on top of the amp at some point but I'm not sure what. Is there a way to clean this off?

I'd try an auto product like any leather conditioner wipe...

I used a little dish soap and water on mine.... I also used a spray with bleach that worked well too. No discoloration ocurred

Yea, the ArmorAll cleaner and conditioner wipes work great on tolex.

I got my 212 used that had a 212 stacked on it and left black foot marks.

I used water and a magic eraser. That cleaned it up quickly.

Tried all of the above...nothing is working...not even a little. Hmmmm....

Weird that none of the above will clean off those marks.
Looks like(after blowing up your pic) something got transferred from the cover.

Now I know we're talking white tolex ,but on black, especially making small rip repairs on cabs,or where the tolex will split,
that liquid shoe polish will make seams nearly invisible. I have even done that on scuffs as well.

Maybe dab a little sneaker/tennis shoe white polish on it if you can scrub it off.

...just had a brain fart.
If you try the white shoe polish trick,I'd dab some on a non conspicuous place first.
Hate like hell to have it not be a true color match, turn cream color,or something that ends up
worse that the skid marks in Lord Tone Kings panties.

...just sayin

This worked great on my Jubilee. Looks a day old now after cleaning it.
